  1. this could also sharpen Luongo into being completely unbeatable....Also I am concerned about your heart condition when Khabibulin gets cheap shotted in retaliation I think consistent traffic in front of the net, bumping him periodically on shots would have better long term effects.
  2. Just because the guy was black doesn't mean you get to call him Hershey. Plus his name is Hersey. Know your Bradley legends, son. OOPs...I am not a bb guy. I remember watching that game with some friends of mine who were Bulls fans. I said wow how is that not a foul. Their response was they are not going to call a foul there that would change the outcome of a game..blah blah blah. My response was, but its a foul. Anyway I think it was terrible that that call wasnt flagrant last night. Funny that the NHL has gone away from this not calling penalties when the "timing" isnt right, but the NBA seems to be embracing it.
  3. if luongo comes off his mountain and lays an egg this could happen, dont see it happening though
  4. Yes they do. no offense to Blues fans but they are not as good as the Hawks. Also, even though it was a sweep, 3 or those games were pretty close. I am leaning towards the Canucks winning this series, but it is not a slam dunk. I can see the Canucks almost dominating and winning it in 5. If the series goes deep, I like the Hawks chances. I'm worried about that too, but it's just my general paranoia. And the fact that the last two times these two teams played each other Vancouver kicked the living crap out of the Hawks. I think the only way that happens is if Khabi comes off his mountain and just lays an egg. Which could happen, but I think he is going to be fine and this is going to be a 6/7 game series
  5. I think timing is a terrible reason to not call a foul correctly....Remember when micheal jordan rapped hershey hawkins with 1 sec left while hawkins was about to make a game winning lay up in a playoff game, terrible

  7. The only problem is that watching the TSN feed is that they'll be defenitely biased towards the Canucks. a broadcast that is tilted towards the canucks or a broadcast that is all the way homer? I would much rather watch a tsn game with a Canadian team than almost any home teams announcers doing the game, including the Red Wings. At least the TSN announcers are very well informed about hockey as a whole. Some homer announcers, especially American ones, cannot even pronounce some guys names on the other teams. I think Foley and Olczyk are probably the best in America, but they are homers, which makes it un-objective and hard to watch sometimes.
  8. Even with the misspelling of Capitals that's not to shabby. 6 of 8. of course only 2 lower seeds won their playoff series so there was only one big surprise. I know it wont get much play but the Boston/Carolina series is going to be real good. I will give 2nd round predictions tomorrow.
  9. No...though they do try. But there are going to be nights where games are being played in Detroit and Boston or Washington. Also in Chicago and some other eastern time zone teams.
  10. possibly. Of course this is one of the major problems with the Wings being in the Western conference. They are the number 1 national tv draw. They are an Eastern time zone team. How late are you willing to start their home games to appease Boston or Washington(maybe Pittsburgh)? Also if you are an Anaheim fan it really does have to suck to have your team play at 4. Either way for Friday and Sunday it doesnt make any scheduling conflicts to have Hawks/Canucks playing the same day as Ducks/Wings. They can tweek the schedule after that. If they started the Hawks/Canucks on Thurs than that gives the Hawks a chance to complain about not getting an extra day like Anaheim. I am guessing the NHL would want to avoid that if there isnt any stadium issues.
  11. It would make sense to me if they had the western teams playing on different nights. Makes it easier to schedule an early east coast game followed by late west coast. True, but there is only 2 west coast teams left. 5 of the remaining teams are going to be eastern time zone teams and Chicago being a central. So it really dont make a difference if its Detroit or Boston or Washington.
  12. According to the Red Wings official site they are playing friday and sunday. It seems that unless there is stadium conflict of some kind in Vancouver, logically the Hawks/Canucks would have the same schedule. http://redwings.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&id=31609
  13. Where are you getting this schedule? TSN doesn't have anything, nor does the Hawks website. I saw some speculation on the Hawks boards that Game 2 would be Saturday night for an HNIC broadcast, which means Game 1 would indeed be Thursday. But it was just speculation. I was holding out hope for a weekend home game that I might be able to come home and catch. As if I'd be able to get tickets. As a Hawks fan, and novice hockey follower in general, I have very little knowledge about how things work in the playoffs. However, the fact that a game 7 would have been scheduled for Wednesday makes it seem a little less likely that game 1 is going to be Thursday. NHL reschedules right after every round, if all the games would have been sweeps they would be a couple of games into round 2 currently. So the scheduled game 7 has no bearing on when the next round starts, unless they actually play that game 7
  14. Well they paid for tickets, what else has Calgary done worth cheering for? NOTHING... the Flames SUCK. GO HAWKS! Iginla is overrated and Phaneuaf is a [expletive] who only gets sloppy seconds! watch out you might get suspended
  15. Well they paid for tickets, what else has Calgary done worth cheering for?
  16. Calgary does realize that they HAVE to win this game?
  17. Brashear has a reputation similar to Avery where he's going to get punished based on his reputation alone. Brashear has been a piece of [expletive] cheap shot artist all his life... he didn't get suspended 6 games just for the hit on Betts... he also got 3 games for the pre-game altercation I believe. However, Avery doesn't cheap shot and intentionally try to injure people. I get the whole reputation thing, I just don't agree with it. If there isn't some set "three strikes" policy or something like that, every act should be treated on its own. Not to start a who's crime is the biggest, but Burish and Camaleirielli not even getting suspensions and Brashear getting 6 does not seem right. The NHL has a huge problem with consistency. This is not me trying to say that what Burish did was as bad as Brashear or what camelaieirwll did was worse that Lucic or anything like that. What I am saying is that they all were cheap shots with intent to injure. That is without question. So how does the NHL determine the punishments? To me it just does not seem consistent.
  18. without phaneuf I have a hard time seeing the Flames winning, never know though
  19. the NHL has been very inconsistent with their suspensions this off season so it is hard to make a good prediction on this, but I am pretty sure Brashear will certainly not be in game 7 and probably not in game 1 of the next series if the Caps win.
  20. the last 10 mins of the NJ/Car game the other night was incredible!!
  21. unfortunately they lost so now cyno will tell us it's proof that avery is the best role player in the nhl. Nah, he deserved the benching for almost costing his team the game in the final couple minutes. I only stick up for him when it's warranted not when he does [expletive] stuff like this. I think that is why Toratello scratched him while they were up 3-1..a good Avery is a valuable asset. A pain in the rear Avery who is taking stupid penalties and punching goalies is only going to hurt the team. I think for the long term it was a good move by torteelloo
  22. cyno around hockey novices....the police may be called!!
  23. Avery a healthy scratch...I had a feeling that it was going to happen
  24. I am glad no one is kicking me in the nuts 24 straight hours for the things I am bad at. As a former leader of people, is it the persons fault that he cant do the job, or the leaders fault for keeping that person in a job he cant do?
  25. I think it is pretty obvious after Khabi didnt get pulled last night that Q plans on riding him no matter what. I thought for sure he was going to get pulled after the 4th goal
