The six HR game has worn out my DVR all winter. But the "I wanted to throw a fastball" pitch by Lackey to Hammel is fantastic, too. -
Mike Anderson is not very good at coaching basketball. He isn't a good recruiter. He has no sense of a substitution pattern. He doesn't know when to call a TO. He doesn't even show emotion when we get jobbed on a call. Oh yeah, I think he lost his magic marker, because he hasn't written a play on a dry erase board during a timeout all season.

Seriously, is there a plausible rationale for the Cards winning 97, or is it just because some pixie dust nonsense? I just don't see how it happens unless absolutely everything goes perfectly, i.e. health, no sophomore slumps.

My my those comments on that Youtube video. If you get past the racial slurs, the comment that stood out to me was, "he's not even a good hitter. I'll take my chances with Piscotty".

I know it is rumored every year, but I really get the feeling that Cal may jump to the NBA after this season. Seeing Donovan make the leap may be too much for his ego to take. Plus, I think he seems weary of coaching in college. I guess this means that Kentucky will be vacating some wins in the near future.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Jake breaking down is about the only one thing that could derail this team. Hopefully, that Mets game was just fatigue.

Curious, does that come from a long time Cubs fan sense of fatalism or is there a real sense that these guys a sorta meh? The dollars and focus put into the farm would suggest that there will be some leaps made by at least a couple of them. -

I bring up ND because somebody said three teams were obviously better than ole miss and ND was the worst team in that group. However the Navy over LSU opinion makes me suspect you are saying things that you don't actually mean. Let's see what Ole Miss does if they get. Agood bowl matchup. I truly think they are as good as any team in fbs. You've sold me on your line of thinking. Arkansas has been robbed of a playoff berth for 2 seasons now.

One of those names isn't like the rest. Clemson, Mich State, ND and possibly Iowa are all better than Ole Miss, IMO.

Yeah, it was a pretty memorable brawl in which Cueto was kicking people, and iirc, Molina was on the receiving end. That might make for an awkward battery. Clearly, Cueto doesn't understand how to play the game the right way. An over the hill Molina keeping the last remaining ace off the Cardinals is pure gold.
