Personally, I don't watch much NBA outside of my rooting interest in the Pelicans and the GS Warriors because they're so much fun to watch. It's just so much standing around and waiting for an isolation play at the end of the shot clock. College is better IMO because of the fan support, the team game and different styles of play. It just is a more enjoyable brand of basketball to me.

Really big game for Arkansas tonight at Iowa St, 7pm CST on ESPN2. The Hogs seem to have gotten much better on the road and they have found their point guards this year. Have tough is the atmosphere in that place?

The situation reminds me of when Arkansas fired Houston Dale Nutt and the national media scoffed, saying we should be happy with what we had. Sometimes there's more to the story than wins and losses, and by all accounts Pellini is as big a douchebag as Nutt. If he just had acted differently he probably would still have a job. When the donors and fans hate the coach it's time for a change.

My niece is a better passer than him and she's not even 2. He is by no means a good QB but he had no business being out there. He could barely even pick himself off the turf, and this after plays where he was barely grazed by the rush. I'll bet he has a ruptured kidney.

Thankfully I have the Hogs BB title in 1994 and the Saints in 2010 to ease my Cubs pain.

and get a home playoff game! Funny, but it could easily be a 11-5 Seahawks team at the 7-9 Saints in the WC round. I predict Mark Ingram will break off an 84 yard tackle breaking run to cement a Saints victory.

Well, the Saints can't stop the run, cover a WR, protect Brees or establish a consistent rushing attack but otherwise they are fine.

This is a very fair assessment and before the season, 7-8 wins with a bowl game is about where Arkansas fans had hoped they would finish this year. I got suckered in by hyperbolic "most overrated team in history" nonsense. I should have known better.

I wasn't going to take the bait on this, but what the hell. I don't think anyone would say MS State and certainly not Bama "aren't that great". There are 50 team capable of beating Arkansas on a given day? Doubtful, but considering the bad performances this year from the likes of UCLA, FSU, TCU etc that isn't that big an indictment. On that note, you say Arkansas was "slaughtered" by Georgia? They lost by 13 in a game where they played their only bad quarter of football all season. No one in the country has played at as consistent a high level against solid to great competetion than Arkansas. They haven't had a BC or Kansas brain fart all season. They didn't just beat LSU and Ole Miss either. That completely dominated them to the tune of 47-0. Have you even seen them this season? And who is over ranking them?

I've never been more excited about a potential December trip to Memphis or Shreveport in my life. Early reports are that Arkansas QB B Allen will be ready for Mizzou.

I just called into the Cubs phone number and asked for Jim Hen Theo Epstein to encourage him to work out a deal for Jon Lester. I know I'm crazy but what can I say? His secretary said he was in a meeting (maybe working on the contract for Lester?) so he couldn't take my call. I ended up leaving him a message telling her that I know Theo will do his best to counter the Heyward trade. I told her that I'm hoping Lester will be that player. The secretary said Theo will appreciate my kind words. Also BigBird says this deal will happen, so I believe him. I'll bite. Who was that from this board who really did this a few years ago? Seems like it was some old codger.

Not sure how good Arkansas will be this year, but they beat Wake by 30 last night with 6 players in double figures. They made several 5-player substitutions with their 2nd team looking even more effective than the starters and their press was Nolan-like. Most impressed I've been watching a Hog team in maybe 20 years.

Great timing for Arkansas to make their leap back to relevancy. They happen to be a 14 pt favorite vs Wake tonight. Anybody know how they are supposed to be this season?
