  1. Any HR allowed to Ethier is by definition unlucky, though.
  2. Obtuse enough to qualify as a straight line.
  3. A's SS prospect, 11th pick in last year's draft, out of high school. Currently in high A, similar path as Almora but without the hamate injury delay. I don't know about same path since Russell has spent the wholenyear at high-A, unlike Almora who won't get there till 2014. Similar enough to where I'd expect Almora would be without the lost injury time this season.
  4. See, I knew it was still too much to ask.
  5. Glad they don't have to play those two road games, but would love the other 2 at home... I think every team in the conference would appreciate an 11 game home schedule with 7 roadies.

  7. Stop being so obtuse. ...well, that's a bit much to ask of you. Learn how to understand basic statistics. ...probably still too much. Keep quiet about things you don't understand? ...never mind, then.
  8. Illinois misses roadies with Michigan and Purdue, doesn't get home dates with Minnesota and Northwestern.
  9. Yes, I'm sure they're doing it for the NCAA's benefit.
  10. Video highlights of Tanaka: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVUrIeSuCrM#t=53 That is some splitter around the :20 mark.
  11. Yes, because not swinging at pitches outside the strike zone IS THE TRUE ENEMY.
  12. He outright lists Baez as a 3B, which is probably why most of the difference. He basically sees Baez = Sano at this point, but oddly isn't that high on either, while Correa, Lindor and Russell are all in the top 8.
  13. I count 3 not in any system - Rodon, Tanaka and Hoffman. What am I missing? Who said four? 8-[
  14. Top 25 MLB prospects from Kiley McDaniel, including unsigned prospects: http://sbb.scout.com/2/1320072.html - 3 of the top 10 prospects aren't actually in any system right now. - All 4 Cub hitters are in the top 21.
  15. Of course Janowicz loses in straight sets in the first round. Dmitrov also fell in 5 sets. Isner rolled an opponent like I've never seen.
  16. Both. What was Rasin's question and what was McDaniel's response? See McDaniel's twitter feed. Raisin's comment was regarding the international prospects "twist" in his top 50 prospects, saying he hoped it didn't affect the positioning of the players from his favorite team. McDaniel apparently thought it was some kind of racist/nationalistic thing, and went off bizarrely for about an hour with various "humorous" replies.
  17. Nadal's got the toughest quarter draw easily though, with a hot Isner and Federer. If Isner had managed to land the Ferrer/Gasquet quarter, I'd probably pick him to reach the semis. EDIT: Plus Raonic and Janowicz are in the bottom half. The top half may have those 4, but there's nobody else besides maybe Dmitrov who's a threat (so if the quarters aren't Djokovic-Del Potro and Murray-Berdych, there was a huge upset). Predictions: Top quarter: Del Potro over Djokovic Second quarter: Murray over Berdych Third quarter: Raonic over Janowicz Fourth quarter: Nadal over Federer Final: Nadal over Del Potro
  18. No; you didn't get it. He didn't say anything worth getting worked up about. At this point, SCS getting it would be the only reason to quote a post of his.
  19. Oh good, more aramis fan fan nonsense.
  20. We'll be on the lookout for a new NSBB account corroborating your story.
  21. I think it actually has a lot to do with how much of a team and scheme sport it is. There are reasonable arguments that coaches are the most historically significant figures in football.
  22. That's what I thought. If you're going to put a fb player's head on a mountain it has to be a QB and not a very good RB that played for like 6 years. Besides, QBs are pretty. I was thinking one of Unitas, Bradshaw, Marino, Montana, Elway, Favre (shudder) or even Manning (Peyton, not Eli). Those would be the only QBs that could be considered the best in the game for more than a couple years.
  23. The Cubs can also re-sign DeJesus next season to help next season.
  24. Really interesting that he likes Baez's SS defense to wind up better than Castro's. And his comment that Bryant, Baez, Soler and Vogelbach have 40 HR power. Ie Rizzo and Castro better get their crap together. You keep insinuating that Rizzo is in danger of losing his job to Vogelbach, but I don't think that dog will hunt. Rizzo, imo, is only going to get better (he's still quite young, remember). I think he'd have to get worse before we got into "he batter watch out for Vogelbach" territory. I for one enjoy the irony of the guy who keeps harping on new toy syndrome (to the point of bumping his own threads to pat himself on the back) constantly ready to replace the productive young major leaguers at a moment's notice.
