  1. Game 4 of the NLCS will be played at Wrigley on October 21, 2015, which is the day Marty goes to in Back to the Future Part II. I'm mentioning this now, so you'll be prepared for it when they mention it a billion times during Wednesday's broadcast.
  2. i don't care what the rumors were...there's no [expletive] way andrew friedman would hire him if ownership tried to force it on him he'd probably walk This is also an outcome I accept.
  3. That's just because the concept of the error is arbitrary and outdated.
  4. No Dusty, hold out for the Dodgers, there's more damage to do there.
  5. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/this-is-the-cubs-best-chance-yet-to-break-their-curse/#fn-1 This is statistically the best Cub team of the divisional era.
  6. Selfishly, I'd like to see the Astros, Rangers and Mets in the CS as they're the weaker teams, but it's also enjoyable to see the best teams play longer, so I'm really rooting for the Jays/Royals/Dodgers to join the Cubs as the best 4 teams on paper in baseball this season.
  7. Also, the Rangers were by far the worst team in the postseason this year on paper, so it's surprise they even came this close. Their pitching was nearly as bad as the Jays' pitching in the first half, and Cole Hamels (no hitter notwithstanding) wasn't as good as many think he should have been this season. Plus, their offense was mediocre as well.
  8. After seeing the play, the umps got the call right. It was the ump's fault for calling time as he can't do that in that instance, and ruling Odor safe was the right call, and Odor earned that run with a heads up play. Common sense prevailed, and the only crime would have been if they hadn't counted the run and the Rangers had lost 3-2.
  9. The Blue Jays are the most recent World Series winners remaining.
  10. This is the Cubs positivity thread, not the cardinals spite thread.
  11. There are no teams left in this postseason with a record as good as the Cubs.
  12. I'm not sure if it's the best, but the Baez HR was the moment where I felt the Cubs were going to win the series for sure.
  13. Just wanted to say... Maddon managed circles around Matheny this series.
  14. Hoping Hammel has a good first inning. Cards hit righties well, so I'd expect Wood and Richard to be ready to go early if necessary.
  15. No reason to double switch anyone. Could put in Jackson in left for defensive purposes maybe.
  16. [tweet]https://twitter.com/jonahkeri/status/653729380343017472[/tweet]
  17. Considering both called strike were in fact strikes, yes, it was. Strike 1 was an extreme lefty strike at best Right on the outside edge of the zone according to gameday. Waiting on pitch f/x, but I know TBS's zone is terribly calibrated.
  18. If you take strikes, they still count as strikes.
  19. Considering both called strike were in fact strikes, yes, it was.
  20. No, it's the Cardinals, so they'll probably throw the next one behind Montero.
  21. If Montero sees anything close to hittable this AB, the pitcher failed miserably.
  22. Looks like USC needs a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher again.
