  1. Cubs have clinched a better record than the Royals
  2. Cubs magic number down to 1. Cubs have clinched a better record than the Reds.
  3. Cubs have clinched a better record than the Rays. Next up: Royals/Reds/Dbacks at 75 losses.
  4. Cubs magic number is 3 pending the Giants result. They have clinched a better record than the Cardinals.
  5. Cubs have clinched a better record than the Angels and Orioles. That's all the teams that had basically written off the season in July. Everyone else is currently within 4 games of a playoff spot, and the next team the Cubs will clinch a better record than will be fun. Also, magic number down to 4.
  6. Cubs have clinched a better record than the Marlins. Magic number down to 7 for a playoff clinch.
  7. Cubs have 16 games remaining: 3 vs TB (currently 72-72 and losing) 3 @ PIT (64-82) 4 @ CIN (currently 73-72) 3 vs NYM (currently 76-70 and in a free fall) 3 vs STL (currently 72-74) If the Mets continue free falling, this opens up the possibility the Cubs don't play a team with a winning record through the end of the season.
  8. Cubs magic number is 8, meaning if they finish 8-8 they make the playoffs at 91-71 and nobody can catch them.
  9. Cubs have now clinched a better record than the Twins, Athletics, Pirates and Braves.
  10. It's nice that national NFL jump to conclusions week zeroes in on the Bears so well this year.
  11. I mean...kinda? My thoughts: - Penalties killed them all night. - Caleb was on early, then high on almost everything in the 2nd half. - Once the DL couldn't get pressure with the front 4, the injured back 7 showed its weakness. Tackling on the 2nd level wasn't there, coverage on Jefferson wasn't there, couldn't stop the run, gave JJ too much time. - The play call on the TD to Odunze in the 4th was the best of the night, I think.
  12. Well at least it was nice that JJ McCarthy got to realize his life long dream of throwing a TD pass to a Chicago Bear.
  13. Handoff to Moore who rushes straight forward for 5. See, Swift, that is called rushing yardage.
  14. Still too much lateral movement from Swift on every rushing play.
  15. QBs on other teams hold the ball too long too.
  16. I've reached the point where I hope the USMNT goes winless while being embarrassed by CAF and AFC minnows in empty stadiums because the idiots in charge of FIFA and our country deserve all the embarrassment they can manage.
  17. This has all the feelings of a 35-24 Vikings win where you come away feeling better about the offense than the defense.
  18. As per usual, the #1 skill requirement for being a professional coach is having already been a professional coach before, no matter you terrible you were at it before.
  19. The way back machine:
  20. Cubs have now clinched a better record than the Nationals. (They previously clinched a better record than the Rockies and White Sox)
  21. UNC received the opening kickoff, did 3 simple running plays for a first down, then had 3 big plays in a row that went for a TD to go up 7-0. From that point, TCU scored on every possession and UNC didn't complete another pass for 2 hours.
  22. UNC did look good for about 90 seconds tonight.
  23. This is pretty minor overall, as rosters expand to 28 tomorrow and this is basically an extra RH bat to use against lefties when needed.
  24. Here's how I think the top 10 will shake out after today (assuming ND beats Miami): 1. Ohio State 2. Penn State 3. Georgia 4. Notre Dame 5. Texas 6. LSU 7. Oregon 8. Clemson 9. Arizona State 10. Illinois If Miami wins, I think Miami jumps ND and Clemson and ND falls to 9.
