    NFL Week 5

The Ravens have allowed an average of 35+ points per game through 5, and they've already played the Browns once.
  2. They won't start Boyd on short rest. I'd expect Rea game 1, Boyd 2, Shotgun 3, Taillon to close the series out in game 4.
  3. Wasn't all sunshine and rainbows with Caleb yesterday, but this was a fantastic throw:
  4. I have no idea what the Packers were doing at the end there. Playing for a tie at best?
  5. Not many better ways to end a season than sweeping an uninspired Cards team at home.
  6. With one day left in the season: AL: Either the Yankees or Blue Jays will be the 1 seed, the other will be the 4 seed. Toronto holds the tiebreaker, so the Yankees need a win and Jays loss tomorrow. Seattle will be the 2 seed Detroit or Cleveland will be the 3 seed. Detroit's win today clinches a playoff spot for them. Cleveland holds the tiebreaker, so 2 Cleveland wins or a win and Tigers loss will win the AL Central for Cleveland. Tigers need at least one Cleveland loss and a win. Boston will be the 5 seed, unless they lose tomorrow and Cleveland wins twice. Boston wins the tiebreaker against Cleveland, loses it against Detroit. Houston needs 2 wins and 2 Cleveland losses to sneak in as the 6 seed. NL: Milwaukee is the 1 seed. Philly is the 2 seed. LA Dodgers are the 3 seed. Cubs are the 4 seed. Padres are the 5 seed. Mets or Reds are the 6 seed. Reds hold the tiebreaker, so the Mets still need help, even though they won today. Both have a magic number of 2, effectively.
  7. The Cubs offense has a chance to end the season in an oddly neat way: If Shaw picks it up just a bit these last 2 games, they'll end the season with all 9 players in the lineup effectively being an above average MLB hitter.
  8. ESPN analytics has posted their receiver ratings through 3 weeks, and the Bears WRs are...really good? https://espnanalytics.com/receivers
  9. Baby steps. Eventually everyone will realize how silly it is to not just use the ABS call.
  10. ABS for all MLB for 2026: https://www.mlb.com/news/abs-challenge-system-mlb-2026 Details: Each team will get two challenges and can keep them if they're successful. Challenges can only be initiated by a pitcher, catcher, or batter, and the request must come right after the pitch. To signal a challenge, the player will tap his hat or helmet to let the umpire know No help from the dugout or other field players is allowed In each extra inning, a team will be awarded a challenge if it has none remaining entering the inning.
  11. Coming next week: the 1-2 Ravens vs the 1-2 Chiefs.
  12. Harrison Butker keeps pushing it far right. And he's also missing field goals.
  13. Given who owns the team, Tom probably flew him out there on his private jet.
  14. If the Chiefs lose today, they might start to tear it all down.
  15. One more positive note about Caleb: that flea-flicker bomb went over 65 yards in the air, and he didn't have time to step into it (thanks, for the lob wedge, there, Swift!). I'm not sure there are 5 QBs in the NFL today that can make that throw.
  16. I'm just surprised I didn't hear Micah Parsons' number even once today, he's the central part of the whole Cowboys defense...*checks notes*...ahh, I see there are owners worse than the McCaskeys.
  17. The throws he was missing were mostly finding the seam in the middle of the zone, was putting about a foot too much on them and overthrowing the receiver while making sure he cleared the first layer of the defense.
  18. Exactly 31-14, not sure. They won back to back games last season 36-10 and 35-16 to get to 4-2 before the Commanders debacle and Eberflus being exposed for not knowing how to run a team.
  19. The O line just has to cut down on the penalties and sacks. No sacks today, which is great. I'm not sure if the disastrous run game is more of the holes not opening up, or Swift just stutter-stepping his way to the hole closing before he can get there. The D line got 2 sacks today and the Bears got 4 turnovers, but giving up 6 yards per play is generally not a great blueprint for defensive success.
  20. Bears win 31-14. The WRs are good! Caleb had the 4th highest passer rating QB game in Bears history! The Bears got 3 turnovers! The lines are still a problem, the RB room is still a problem, the back seven really misses their top 3 players (duh). EDIT: Caleb Williams has proven he can take apart a Matt Eberflus defense.
  21. 14 first quarter points is the most for the Bears since 2021.
  22. Cowboys with 2 runs for 30 yards but gave the ball away.
  23. Two terrible runs by Swift and an overthrow, not a great start.
