    One more positive note about Caleb: that flea-flicker bomb went over 65 yards in the air, and he didn't have time to step into it (thanks, for the lob wedge, there, Swift!). I'm not sure there are 5 QBs in the NFL today that can make that throw.

    I'm just surprised I didn't hear Micah Parsons' number even once today, he's the central part of the whole Cowboys defense...*checks notes*...ahh, I see there are owners worse than the McCaskeys.

    The throws he was missing were mostly finding the seam in the middle of the zone, was putting about a foot too much on them and overthrowing the receiver while making sure he cleared the first layer of the defense.

    Exactly 31-14, not sure. They won back to back games last season 36-10 and 35-16 to get to 4-2 before the Commanders debacle and Eberflus being exposed for not knowing how to run a team.

    The O line just has to cut down on the penalties and sacks. No sacks today, which is great. I'm not sure if the disastrous run game is more of the holes not opening up, or Swift just stutter-stepping his way to the hole closing before he can get there. The D line got 2 sacks today and the Bears got 4 turnovers, but giving up 6 yards per play is generally not a great blueprint for defensive success.

    Bears win 31-14. The WRs are good! Caleb had the 4th highest passer rating QB game in Bears history! The Bears got 3 turnovers! The lines are still a problem, the RB room is still a problem, the back seven really misses their top 3 players (duh). EDIT: Caleb Williams has proven he can take apart a Matt Eberflus defense.

    The Mets were 45-24 on June 12, and then underwent three separate stretches where they lost 10 of 11. And they're still in position to sneak into the playoffs.

    A split probably puts them on life support, under 5% for the playoffs. Cubs taking 3 of 4 would effectively end it. EDIT: The Mets are home to the Nationals this weekend, so expecting them to drop 2 of 3 is asking a lot. The Giants and DBacks, on the other hand, are playing the Dodgers and Phillies, so...

    Reds are in an interesting spot in the playoff race right now, 2 game behind a free-falling Mets team that they win the tiebreaker with, and effectively tied with 2 other teams (Dbacks, Giants) that they also hold tiebreakers against. The biggest reason they've only got a 7% chance at the playoffs from this position is that 7 of their final 10 games are against the Cubs and Brewers (plus, gaining 2 games in the standings in 10 games is still tricky). Treading water for them in this series is probably not good enough, as there are too many teams close to them to hope that .500 ball will keep them in the race. Even if the Mets continue to falter, the DBacks and Giants are right there and it only takes one of them getting hot to take control of that last wild card spot. On the flip side, the Cubs could effectively end the Reds season this weekend.

    That PCA shot was about 10 seconds after my "Would be fun for Pete's 30th HR here" and it's too bad PNC park is stupid in center field.

    Always more fun to clinch on a win. I will remain nervous until there are fewer outs needed than runs the Cubs are ahead (I like to call it the 2003 Alex Gonzalez syndrome).
