  1. well at least I got to see Nolasco's first ML win in person...
  2. Pie was 2/5 including a run scored and had a K. All of Iowa's runs came in the 7th. The 7th was a real crazy inning: Iowa Bottom 7th Pitcher Change: Jonathon Rouwenhorst replaces Jered Weaver. Mike Fontenot singles on a bunt pop to second baseman Howie Kendrick. Matt Padgett strikes out swinging. Geovany Soto singles on a line drive to right fielder Nick Gorneault. Mike Fontenot to 2nd. Felix Pie singles on a ground ball to shortstop Casey Smith. Mike Fontenot to 3rd. Geovany Soto to 2nd. Augie Ojeda walks. Mike Fontenot scores. Geovany Soto to 3rd. Felix Pie to 2nd. Coaching visit to mound. Buck Coats singles on a ground ball to right fielder Nick Gorneault. Geovany Soto scores. Felix Pie scores. Augie Ojeda to 3rd. Buck Coats advances to 2nd, on throwing error by right fielder Nick Gorneault. Pitcher Change: Matt Wilhite replaces Jonathon Rouwenhorst. With Michael Restovich batting, Augie Ojeda scores on a balk. Buck Coats advances to 3rd on a balk. Salt Lake Bees shortstop Adam Pavkovich ejected by HP umpire HP Umpire. Michael Restovich grounds out, pitcher Matt Wilhite to first baseman Kendry Morales. Jeff Deardorff grounds out, shortstop Casey Smith to first baseman Kendry Morales.
  3. Jaxx win 2-1 :) Mateo pitched 6 strong innings only allowing 2 hits, 1 run (a homer), 1 BB, and 3 K's. His ERA is down to 2.23. Piggy, Atlee, and Rapada pitches 3 innings of scoreless relief only allowing a hit.
  4. Wuertz's 9th: Called K, single, pop out, swinging K. Iowa wins 6-0 :)
  5. and Daytona wins 13-2. Gallagher now 3-0 on the season. Carlos Perez pitches 3 scoreless innings of relief to get the save. Only baserunner he allowed was on a walk. His ERA is still at 8.44 though  O'Malley's night is done. Great effort from him tonight...6 2/3 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 BB's, 7 K's. Aardsma is now in for Iowa. and it appears Jon beat me to it
  6. shame on me for actually thinking there was a change that was going to be made.
  7. Ryan O'Malley's perfect game bid ends in the 6th as Salt Lake got a leadoff single. The runner was erased on a caught stealing though, so he retired everyone in order so far. Iowa still leads 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th. West Tenn leads 2-1 in the 6th. EPatt is 2/3 today including a triple. Montanez and Hoffpauir have the 2 RBI's in the game for the Jaxx. Daytona is routing Sarasota 13-2 in the 9th. Gallagher pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and 7 K's. Alan Rick, who is DH'ing tonight, had a grand slam in the 6th.
  8. Felix!!! 4th homer of the season, 3rd in less than a week. Leadoff homer puts Iowa up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st.
  9. Sam Fuld hit a 2 run homer in the 3rd to give Daytona a 2-1 lead at that time. However, Gallagher allowed a homer to Sarasota in the 4th and the game is tied at 2 in the bottom of the 4th. Gallagher's line so far: 4 IP, 4 hits, 2 runs (2 earned), 0 BB's, 5 K's, 1 HR allowed.
  10. how many simulated hits did Bynum get?
  11. Carlos Lee is a definite guy to go after in the offseason. looking at that manager list, Ned Yost or Eric Wedge would be real nice.
  12. yeah, everyone knows we suck. However, the Nats are close to our level of suckitude, so it should be an all-out suckfest tomorrow night  Seriously though, I think we'll win. Sending Big Z to the mound and this team needed an off day to regroup. Hopefully tomorrow can be the first win of many. On to the pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/115817.jpg Livan Hernandez: 1-4, 6.52 ERA http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/407296.jpg Carlos Zambrano: 1-2, 3.88 ERA Livan has given up 11 homers on the year already..needless to say, he's been very homer happy so far. Z has had 2 good outings in a row after a rough outing against Milwaukee. Let's hope he can continue that stretch with a win tomorrow night against the Nats.
  13. hm you're right. I'll get on it.
  14. Peoria's game was rained out. According to the Chiefs' site, the game is cancelled and will not be made up during the 1st half of the season because these 2 teams do not meet each other again.
  15. Alright fine, bring 'em all up. Take whatever minor leaguers are hitting, and put them in place of Bynum, Theriot and Mabry, who has been awful. Might as well drop back to 11 pitchers and call up another bat as well. i think you actually have to play before you are called terrible. The Riot hasn't had a chance to show anything with the big league team yet. I believe that statement was made about Mabry. yeah, i believe you're right  Carry on then. If Luis continues to hit the way he has for the next week or 2, I'd strongly consider bringing him up.

  17. Hilarious. I totally don't see that happening either. Technically we already have their #1 pick in next years draft. That's idiotic. I don't necessarily think I'm against trading Gordon, but if its for that I might just abandon Chicago sports completely. well we'd have to get a big SG in return, so their "elite" guard would probably be QRich. Like you said, we have the right to swap picks with them next year and there's no chance that the Knicks will be better than us next year. I would not trade Gordon for Richardson and another pick in a million years. I don't mind shopping Gordon...if it's going to land us a star. But I bought a Gordon jersey last year and I'd be pretty pissed if he's gone before his 3rd full year here.
  18. 1st time in 100 years a starter has allowed 7 runs in one inning and still get the win
  19. if he's extended, I don't know what I'm going to do...but it's not going to be good.
  20. i like the kid and I think he can be a solid middle of the rotation starter...but I don't see how he's an "untouchable" as well. What other organization would have a pitcher who's career potential will be a middle of the rotation starter as an untouchable? His curve is pretty good, but his fastball only hovers around 90 and I really haven't seen much use of his other pitches. I just don't understand how Hill is an "untouchable."
  21. and the Sox score 6 more to take a 9-7 lead. 9 runs in one game. What it would be like to have a good offense.
  22. He'll probably trade the wrong guys....probably start with Walker. I don't have a problem trading Walker. He's a FA at season's end, so if we're not contending, he should be traded...as should Maddux, Hairston, Pierre, Mabry, Blanco and anyone else not signed beyond this season. i agree. Trading Walker makes sense because I doubt he'll be back after the season anyway. Not with the way Hendry tried and tried to get rid of him in the offseason.
