  1. Iowa down 5-2, headed to the 8th. Pie, Hoffpauir, and Hill due up.
  2. Oh man, that is HUGE. Tied for the 2nd seed and both of us have 6 games left. As long as we take care of business, it's ours.
  3. Now 5-2 Round Rock after 4. Round Rock had a 2 RBI single after Mathes walked in the run. Coats threw out the runner that was trying to advance to 3rd, however.
  4. Mathes just walked in a run. 3-2 Round Rock in the 4th.
  5. Brooks Conrad homers for Round Rock. 2-0 after 1...
  6. Ugh, Hoffpauir flies out to center and Patterson is doubled off at home as he tried to score on the sac fly.
  7. EPatt with a 1 out single and then Pie works the count from 0-2 to 2-2 before singling up the middle. 1st and 3rd for Iowa in the 1st with 1 out.
  8. Iowa lineup is out: LF-Pagan 2B-EPatt CF-Pie 1B-Hoffpauir C-Hill RF-Coats 3B-Moore SS-Fontenot P-Mathes
  9. Amen. Freaking pathetic how our bullpen can't hold up a great outing by Marquis. Still, our offense was pretty bad once again. With the lineup that we have, we have to get more than 2 runs a game. 2 runs a game won't win many games for any team, especially with our team. We were very fortunate to get two great outings from Lilly and Marquis. Unfortunately, we only took one of them. No offense, but this isn't the right way to think about the series. Zambrano not giving the team a chance to win is a bigger outrage! The bullpen had not given up a run before today. I agree that it's a waste to ruin a good start by Marquis (or anyone else for that matter) but the team is counting more heavily on Zambrano. He has to step up and pitch well immediately; as he will be pitching opposite Sheets over the weekend. This team can't afford another 0-2 April from Carlos... Marquis giving the team a chance to win is gravy. You basically said what I just did at the end. Marquis giving the team a chance to win IS gravy and our pen did blow it. We have to win these games that Marquis pitches this well because it's not going to come often.
  10. As do I. Should be another fun year in Peoria.
  11. After a tough loss in the season opening series to the Reds, the Cubs look to change their luck around with a 3 game series against Milwaukee at Wrigley Field North. With Hill, Miller, and Zambrano going this weekend, 2 out of 3 is a must. Pitching Matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/448179.jpg Rich Hill (my guy): 6-7, 4.17 ERA, 2 CG, 1 shutout, 99.1 IP, 90 Ks/39 BBs (2006 #s) http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/433657.jpg Dave Bush: 12-11, 4.41 ERA, 3 CG, 2 shutouts, 210 IP, 166 Ks/38 BBs (2006 #s) Hopefully our bats wake up in this series as well. Barrett really needs to have a good game to get him out of his funk and to get his confidence up. And mods, feel free to add the XM radio station for the game in the thread title as well. Go Cubs!
  12. Think I've only seen a game end on a HBP one other time. Cleveland's bullpen still seems to be pretty bad. Borowski just about blew that game yesterday as well.

  14. Do you want the blue jerseys, text Y/N to 55-222 Sounds good. Y it is.
  15. What's the question and what's the number to text?
  16. Nice lineup. Hopefully Lee can make up for Pierre and Perez's inabiliity to get on base  No but seriously, it is a good lineup. Let's hope that we can actually shut down Javier Valentin for once.
  17. Yep, probably. If Marquis was half as good as Lilly was today, I'd be satisfied. I have a class at 12:30, but my English teacher is a diehard Cubs fan. I have pretty good hopes that he'll let us out early tomorrow.
  18. 9-0 Mets. Nothing makes me happier than an angry Joe Buck :D
  19. I hate Joey Crawford. I'm 99.9% sure he was the ref that threw out TT. Just a pathetic display of reffing. Still, a great win considering TT was sick and ejected early in the 4th, BG was in foul trouble most of the way, and Wallace was out. Probably our best win of the year was tonight.
  20. 5-0 Mets, headed to the 8th. The game is on FSN Midwest here and Buck is announcing the game. He sounded pretty disappointed when Preston Wilson struck out
