    He started to get rocked in his last start against St. Louis. 5 IP 4 ER But prior to that 5th inning, I believe he had 4 no-hit innings. Hopefully he gets hit hard, early and often.

    I wouldn't be surprised to see Harvey out of baseball in a year or two. There's something wrong when a high draft pick can barely hit .200 in high A. Dopirak will probably just flounder around in high A and AA for a couple of years. Either way, both don't have much of a future unless you live in Daytona or Tennessee.

    I don't understand the problem with the team's power either. I'm getting incredibly frustrated by it. Before the season, you would have thought that on a day like today, we would have slugged out 3 or 4 long ones. So much for that. Winning is good and all, but to beat good teams, we're going to have to start using some power to win. These guys are going to have to remember that they can hit balls out of the park. As for the pitching, I trust Hill (for the most part). I'm fine with Marshall too, but his slow working abilities today really doesn't help him out on days like today when it's 90 degrees outside.

    Tennessee won 5-3. Berg went 7, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, 1 K/1 BB, and gave up a homer. Jones and Henderson pitched the final two innings as Henderson earned his 10th save of the year. Kyle Reynolds was 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Alan Rick was also 2/4 with an RBI. Spearman, Cortes, and Spears each went 1/3. Daytona defeated Jupiter, 6-2. Good outing for Santo tonight: 7 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 4 K's/3 BB's, 1 HR allowed. Layden gave up a run in the 8th, but Tuero pitched a scoreless 9th. Ryan Harvey hit a grand slam and raised his average up to .204!!! Mottram and Clevenger were each 2/4. Rea, Mota, Yusuf, and Muyco were all 1/4. Dope was 0/2 with 2 walks and a run. Peoria lost 7-1. Bad outing for Hernandez tonight: 5 IP, 8 hits, 6 runs, 5 ER, 4 K's/0 BB's, 1 HR given up. Maradeo pitched 2 perfect innings and Bartek allowed a run in the inning he pitched. Clark Hardman went 3/4 with the only Peoria RBI. Blake Lalli was 1/4 and Barney was 1/3. Iowa is tied at 5 in the 9th. Bailey gave up 9 hits, 4 runs, 1 K/3 BB's in 5 and a third. Ben Howard gave up the tying run in the 8th. Patterson is 3/4 with an RBI and a run scored. Felix is 2/4 with a run scored. Soto is 1/3 with a double and an RBI. Fox is 0/3 with an RBI and his first stolen base in Iowa.

    Yeah, prior to the game, he said Friday. He contemplated Thursday, but since it was a day game, he figured he would wait an extra day so Wood would be "completely fresh."

Dope was 0/3 with a strikeout. Iowa lost 6-1. So-so outing for Mateo tonight: 6 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 K's/2 BB's. Piggy and Cotts each threw a scoreless inning and Wells gave up two runs in the 9th. Felix was 2/4 with a double. Soto and Fox were each 1/4 with a double apiece. EPatt was 0/4. Tennessee up 3-2 in the 9th. Holliman went 6, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 6 K's/1 BB, and gave up a homer. Casey McGehee has a 2-run homer. Colvin is not in the lineup tonight.
