  1. Pretty obvious that this bum is going to shut us down today.
  2. Papelbon looked great. Mid-80's on the radar gun (the one at KC is slow), but he had pretty good control and was able to induce a lot of ground outs early on. A couple of the walks he had were due to a very poor home plate umpire. I usually never blame umpires for a bad strike zone or anything, but there were pitches that were seriously right down the middle that he was calling for balls. Papelbon was becoming very aggitated, but he still pitched around the walks. His defense didn't help him out either as Barney made a bad play at short and then Canzler could not handle a routine throw on a very routine ground out at 1st. I was really impressed with Ceda. This guy has some great stuff. He was hitting mid-90's on KC's slow radar gun and his offspeed stuff was making the Cougars hitters look silly. Castillo's HR was a bomb, the only question being whether it would stay fair or not. Peoria is now 3-0 at games I attend :)
  3. I'm damn sure they would. At least I hope Jim isn't that stupid. Given the price that Hendry paid to land Pierre, I'm pretty certain that Hendry is indeed that stupid.
  4. Now we're talking about a step in the right direction.
  5. Cleveland could just be doing this to gauge interest in him with no intent at all of trading him. I have a hard time believing that they would trade him.
  6. I don't think it's all that reliable, but that is a lot more likely then suddenly having a tear without re-injuring it (aggravating it, sure. From all we've heard though, it just continued to get more sore with him playing, and there was no re-injury point). It will probably continue to be there the rest of the year, but I find it hard to believe that Ramirez will miss more than a week or two with it, and probably less than that. Okay, man. Figured I would throw it out there. I just heard the same thing on ESPN 1000, ARam got a shot in the wrist and is out probaly until monday. I heard it too. Much better news than what we were hearing earlier in the day.
  7. Lineup according to ESPN 1000... Theriot-SS Jones-RF Lee-1B Murton-LF DeRosa-3B Fontenot-2B Kendall-C Pie-CF Lilly-P Allow me to throw up.
  8. In God's name why? yes, please explain Because he's better than Jones and Floyd? I agree that he's overrated, but I'd still take him for the rest of this season. He's marginally better yes, but LLF wanted to offer up the farm for him. He's not Cabrera. Oh yeah, there's no question I wouldn't trade the farm for someone like Hunter.
  9. In God's name why? yes, please explain Because he's better than Jones and Floyd? I agree that he's overrated, but I'd still take him for the rest of this season.
  10. Faling to make a counteroffer for a player that has 23 HR's - check. We really only have ourselves to blame for this. We needed a bat before Soriano and Ramirez got hurt and we didn't add one.
  11. When he's on the unemployment line and making a move in Fantasy Baseball.
  12. I have a feeling that the Cubs are going to be shut down once again.
  13. I'm hopeful that it's Pagan. I'm sure Lou has grown tired of his horrible fundamentals in the past week or so where he doesn't know how many outs there are, drops the ball when he would have had Milledge out by a mile, etc. Either that or Floyd to the 15-day DL just to rest his old body.
  14. Peoria gets destroyed for the second straight day, losing 10-1. Hernandez got pounded tonight: 5+, 16 (!) hits, 10 runs, 8 ER, 3 K's/2 BB's, and 2 homers given up. Ceda pitched three no-hit innings of relief, including striking out 4. Good game for Welington Castillo as he went 3/4 with a pair of doubles. Leclerc went 2/4 and Barney was 1/5 with a double. Boise tied at 6 after 5.
  15. Colorado ties it and they still have runners at 2nd and 3rd with nobody out.
  16. Well we're about to lose two in a row to Houston. That's pretty disgusting.
  17. Daytona was blown out, 8-1. Santo was tagged for 5 hits, 4 runs, 5 K's/1 BB, and allowed a homer in 6 innings. Platt allowed 4 unearned runs in 1 and 1/3 of an inning. Rea was 3/4 and Clevenger was 2/4 with a double and Daytona's lone RBI.
  18. Good luck trying to score again you idiots.
  19. EPatt was Iowa's leadoff hitter. Why not have Patterson leadoff, Theriot bat 2nd, and move Fontenot down in the order? What an ugly, ugly, ugly lineup.
  20. He's actually exceeded my expectations for this season. I have a real hard time believing that they're going to put a guy who's making $7 million a year in the bullpen.
  21. Do you mean why didn't they release him? He had to be waived and clear in order to be sent to AAA in the first place. Why? Im almost positive Ohman has options left. IIRC, he has one option left.
