  1. Wow, didn't really expect this. I felt that the Cubs would re-sign Zambrano, but not until he saw what was on the market in the offseason. Looks like Zambrano really did want to stay here. Good start to the day.
  2. You would think so, but he shut down the Cubs in the Cedeno oversliding 2B game and he shut us down in the last game of the three game set at Busch a couple of weeks ago.
  3. He's absolutely brutal. It's pretty funny to see Soul's sig everytime I see a Hill AB because the inevitable is coming. I don't know what this organization sees in Hill when we clearly have a better option in Iowa right now. Please just DFA him and end this stupid experiment.
  4. Pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/131702.jpg Braden Looper: 10-9, 5.08 ERA, 127.2 IP, 138 hits, 62 K's/38 BB's http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/448179.jpg Rich Hill: 6-7, 3.85 ERA, 140.1 IP, 123 hits, 128 K's/48 BB's After the blowout win of the Reds today, the Cubs welcome in the hated Cardinals to town for the first of a four game set at Wrigley Field. Everyone knows how far the Cardinals have come back in just the last two weeks or so, but the Cubs can push the Cardinals right back where they were before this week started if we can take at least 3 of 4 from them. The Cubs avoid Wainwright in this series and Marquis will not be in this series as well. That alone is a pretty big advantage. Hopefully we can expose that the Cardinals are really a very crappy team, meaning worse than us. Just don't lose, you stupid idiots.
  5. Do we really have to give a run back everytime we score one?
  6. And somehow this game is only tied. Both of these teams are hilariously bad.
  7. Does Marquis always have to walk the damn pitcher?
  8. I take full credit for the great start.
  9. Pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/455751.jpg Bobby Livingston: 3-2, 4.24 ERA, 46.2 IP, 56 hits, 20 K's/7 BB's http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/150302.jpg Jason Marquis: 9-7, 4.18 ERA, 140 IP, 131 hits, 78 K's/55 BB's For a game on August 16th, it's as much of a must-win game as it can be. Being swept by the lowly Astros and the crappy Reds in a week's span would be extremely bad. After Lilly's poor start today, we really need Marquis to have a somewhat decent start. If he doesn't, it looks like the Cubs will fall to .500 as this awful month continues. Just don't lose, you stupid idiots.
  10. Vitters needs a nickname. "Beak" sounds good.
  11. This was predictable. We can't hold a lead to save our lives.
  12. Four straight walks to start the 3rd
  13. Put a charge in this one, Aramis. Time to break it wide open.
