  1. Harang's been giving up homers like they're candy. Ugh.
  2. Harang is starting to roll along now. Time to get the lead.
  3. He won't. He had a setback in his latest rehab stint. I'm pretty sure he won't be back at all this season.
  4. Phillips goes yard. 5-4 game.
  5. This Reds lineup is just horrid. Looks like McKanin (or whatever his name is) was banking on a complete game shutout from Harang today. Good luck trying to score 4 runs with this lineup.
  6. I should be in STL for the Illinois-Mizzou game. Should be a good one. Hopefully NIU can keep it respectable against Iowa and SIU should be able to beat Quincy (whoever the hell that is) by 60 or so.
  7. And Kendall's OPSing over 1.000 this month. All is well. and Hill is OPSing .004 Exactly. While Kendall has been as good as anyone could have hoped for, Hill has been about as bad as you can get.
  8. Pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/150337.jpg Kip Wells: 6-13, 5.24 ERA, 132.1 IP, 141 hits, 98 K's/61 BB's http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/407296.jpg Carlos Zambrano: 14-9, 3.86 ERA, 168 IP, 143 hits, 139 K's/77 BB's Carlos Zambrano looks to continue the Cubs winning ways over the Cardinals with a win in his first start since signing a long-term extension with the Cubs. Daryle Ward provided most of the offense for the Cubs on Saturday as they were able to defeat the Cardinals to take game two of the four game set. Zambrano looks to make it three in a row over the Redbirds and four in a row overall. On the mound for the Cardinals is another crappy pitcher by the name of Kip Wells. Please, Cubs...this guy sucks. Hit him hard, early and often. Just don't lose, you stupid idiots.
  9. Adam Dunn is NOT a FA after this season. If you get rid of Zambrano, you have many more problems than just a catcher to fill (which has been the least of our worries lately). Silva is an average pitcher at his best. Like I said earlier, it would not make sense to just let Zambrano walk away for nothing when there is absolutely nothing else there on the market. Nothing on this market is going to come close to the production that Zambrano gives you.
  10. Sarcasm, right? not really. So you'd really let Zambrano walk any for nothing with a huge gaping hole to fill in your rotation? This rotation already has a question mark in it so why would you make that an even bigger area of concern? better than having a huge gaping hole in our rotation that costs 18 mil. What else would you want to fill the void that he would have left in the rotation? I like Gallagher a lot, but would you expect a rotation of Lilly, Marquis, Hill, Gallagher, and Marshall to win you a lot of games? And how is Zambrano a huge hole in the rotation? He is wild at times, but his stuff is among the best in the league and he's still only 26.

  12. Pitching matchup: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/435039.jpg Anthony Reyes: 2-11, 5.48 ERA, 88.2 IP, 88 hits, 61 K's/30 BB's http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/445156.jpg Sean Marshall: 5-6, 4.25 ERA, 82.2 IP, 87 hits, 53 K's/25 BB's The Cubs got off to a good start to this series by winning today's game with a strong performance by Rich Hill and having Jacque Jones step up in a big way as well. Reyes' struggles have been well-documented this season, so it would be nice if the Cubs offense can hit him hard, early and often. If Marshall can go 6-7 innings, I think we'll be in pretty good shape. Just don't lose, you stupid idiots.
  13. Reds have Arroyo pitching tonight and a half-decent lineup out as well. I like our chances for being in sole possession of 1st place at night's end.
  14. Getting back on topic somewhat... Nice bunt by Ryan.
  15. 1 out walk for Lee. Let's get some insurance here.
  16. Ryan Ludwick? You can't make this stuff up.
