    I'll be ignorant and say it's a terrible hire now. Out of all the coaches out there, we take a guy that had zero coaching experience. The team he worked for didn't even interview him for their head coaching vacancy. What does that tell you? This is quite embarrassing, but I'll let it play out since I have no other choice. Hopefully Pax and Del Negro prove me wrong.

    :?: Never heard that one before. What, more specifically, do you mean? Probably the fact that he agrees with everything that Piniella does, for one. Stone and it's not even close. I took him for granted when he was with the Cubs, but he is vastly superior to Brenly in every way.

    Very erratic line: 4 IP, 1 hit, 1 run, 0 ER, 3 K's/6 BB's, 5 GO's/4 FO's, 81 pitches (40 strikes). What the hell has happened to his control?

    Reds drafted Pat White in the 49th round.

    UK, any word on if SIU catcher Mark Kelly is going to get drafted? He had several preseason accolades, but his main question coming into the season was would his power improve and it really didn't. I was quite shocked to see our pitcher Cody Adams get selected in the 2nd round by the Brewers. He has a good arm but he tends to get smacked around a bit.

    I only watched the 4th quarter of Game 4 of last year's Finals. I watched most of this one and it was a pretty good game. Pierce really overdid the knee injury though. It looked bad but did he really have to be carried off the court? Especially because he came back about 10 minutes after that happened. I'm sure his knee is going to swell up tomorrow and I doubt he'll practice, but the extra day off (no idea why there's two off days before the next game) should benefit him.

    No, you really don't. He's really starting to sour on me and I'm beginning to see why he was such a crappy manager besides the Schilling-Johnson year in 2001. Just listen what he had to say throughout the 7th and 8th innings and you'll see what I'm talking about. I thought what he had to say about Pierre was humorous, but then I remembered the fact that he hardly criticized Pierre at all when he was here in 2006. Way to be two-faced Bob. You just gotta love that.

    Look, I didn't want him at 19 either, but he was projected in the first. It's nothing insane. He's a reliever. With those other good arms out there, why would you take a reliever over them?
