To be fair, Cosby dove into the endzone when he scored. I know for a fact that a dive into the endzone now results into an excessive celebration penalty. And yes, I think that rule is a complete joke. That game was pretty dull and listless for the first three quarters but the 4th quarter was great. I wouldn't look at it as the Big Ten doing 'better than expected' but the Big 12 is doing much worse than expected. Outside of Kansas, they've struggled in all of their bowls. Texas looked real average on offense for most of the game and gave up 21 points to an Ohio State team that struggled to score any points against the two legitimate teams they played this year. Missouri was fortunate that Northwestern kicked to Macklin going into halftime, Texas Tech was rolled by Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State gave up a boatload to Oregon. I think it's safe to admit that there really is no clear-cut favorite for the best conference in the land. I'm really pulling for the Sooners on Thursday, but today's 'performance' by Texas is making me a little worried about that one.
