  1. It was annoying at first but as the draft keeps going on, it's becoming increasingly funny. I can't believe a producer or someone hasn't told one of the guys on set to move their microphone away from their face. You hear nothing but breaths while you're waiting for a pick to be announced.
  2. That was great when Stu asked Rod Thorn why he traded Vince Carter to which some fan in the background yells, "CAUSE HE SUCKS." Shut up with your UNC crap, Stu and retire from broadcasting already.
  3. Either him or Deng have to be moved. I would've rather had Blair but Gibson's not bad.
  4. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wtf
  5. I like the Johnson pick a lot. Now find a taker for Deng, please.
  6. I'm just hoping Mullens is taken before we pick..
  7. That's a lot of tweener crap for Amare. Biedrins is pretty legit, and Azubuke will play well in that system Yeah, that's probably more than what we can offer Phoenix.
  8. Amare to Golden State is apparently a done deal according to a Suns source on RealGM. Inexplicable.
  9. It was only a matter of time before he finally did sign with the Vikings. I still don't see how his signing is beneficial to the Vikings at all. In the short term I have doubts if Favre will be much better than either of the other three quarterbacks on the Vikings' roster. Also given Favre's performance the last few years I would be concerned that he will choke yet again, whether it's at the end of the season or in the playoffs potentially. Long term this does nothing but create more confusion for the Vikings' quarterback situation. Not only does this take away valuable time from Tavaris Jackson, but then there will be the circus that will occur next offseason when Favre won't be able to make a decision about retirement. For better news, Greg Jennings has a new contract. That's a huge relief that we brought back Jennings long-term. We've done surprisingly well in paying our better players recently, and for a reasonable amount to boot so I applaud Thompson in that regard. Jennings is one of the bigger playmaking WR's in the league and he should only continue to excel these next few years.
  10. Looks like I was driving the Padilla train back then. It's always pretty comical to look back at those threads and realize how dumb you were.
  11. What a deal for the Spurs. Sheesh, just gave him away... Anywho...Anyone have anything on what the blazers will do with their 6 picks? I know that they have been stalking some european players due to come in the next couple of years but this would be the season to do some trading and get value for Paul Allen's Cash. As soon as I saw that deal, I thought that it was a typical Skiles move. I'm not a fan of Terrence Williams at all. I hope the Bulls stay away from him. I'd like the James Johnson pick because that would signal to me that they would be willing to ship Deng away. As I've said before, I wouldn't mind the Bulls taking Hansbrough either. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Thursday night.
  12. Let's get the hell out of this place and into the hell known as Detroit.
  13. Well at least the Cardinals are losing. Of course it'd be nice if we got an XBH too.
  14. You clearly forget the days of Lenny Harris, Jose Macias, Neifi Perez, Damien Jackson, Rey Ordonez, and the like. Yeah but in terms of the last few teams we have had, Miles definitely deserves to be close to that list. Especially for the amount he's being paid. All things considered, I like that lineup.
  15. Martinez is a horrible defensive catcher and he's going to be moved to 1B in a few years. I don't really see the need in that.
  16. That's my problem too. I was young and took the Bulls and Packers success for granted.
  17. This never seems to be an issue when people talk about Dunn. Huh? Dunn may only hit .246 sometimes but he slugs over .500. Most people wouldnt care about Bradleys .245 avg or whatever it is if he was slugging better than .398. and had more than 16 RBI. Your comparison really makes no sense. Give it time, he had two doubles today and he's been swinging the bat a lot better lately. It was unfair of everyone to expect this guy to duplicate the numbers he had last year at one of the best hitters parks in all of baseball. He's showing plenty of signs of snapping out of his funk, unlike our $16 million per season man. Oh Im not saying anything negative about Bradley in my comment. I just dont understand shnsajax's comment. He was just comparing BA as a whole and BA with RISP, to which Dunn's numbers are extremely similar to Bradley's. He didn't say anything about the power numbers.

  19. Our bullpen has actually been pretty damn solid lately. Would it be nice to add another arm? Yeah of course it would, but not if the price is real steep. Like others have mentioned, we have much more pressing needs on offense than our bullpen right now.
  20. Hawks made it to the Finals in 92. Yeah, should've mentioned that; but that predates my fanhood. I hadn't even watched a hockey game at that point. A young kid in southern Indiana doesn't get much hockey exposure -- it's a self-taught discipline. Same here, I was only 4 at the time. It happened in my lifetime but I didn't start to follow hockey until the end of the Roenick-Chelios-Amonte years.
  21. Yeah, really. Thornton's a gigantic pipe dream. There's no way the Sox trade him.
  22. Yeah, keep Shark as a starter. They made the right move bringing up Hart.
