    To have the UC rockin' like Patrick Kane's bed would be a financial boom for Chicago. I hope it happens. To think about the possibility that come the start of the 2010-11 NHL/NBA seasons Chicago could have both the reigning Stanley Cup Champions and a Bulls roster that incudes but not limited to James and Bosh........................................... oh were was I? Oh yeah, would be unbelievable. Excuse me, while I change my pants. weird

    Yes. Last year, the Pistons agreed in principle with Gordon and Villanueva on July 1st and then signed them immediately on July 8th. I don't think we're going to have to wait too much longer, really.

    Teams can talk to FA's on July 1 and discuss contracts but can't officially sign them until the 8th. It's been that way forever. We'll have a good idea of who's going where long before July 8.

    If the reported Deng deal is true, I have to give major props to Bulls management. I've been pleading and begging for us to make these moves for the last two years. Now we can see these moves become official in the span of a couple of hours.

    If the free agents are smart (a lot of these guys probably won't be), then we won't be one of those teams that are upset. Our situation is easily the best one available out of the teams with space to sign a big name FA or two. I assume you mean Rose/Noah there. What does the future look like with those two guys' next contracts if they do sign two max guys today? Does Rose become a max guy, can they sign him? Do they give Noah big money? The beauty of the NBA salary cap is that we can go over the cap to sign our own free agents. Give them as much money as they want, as far as I'm concerned when they're FA's.

    Buff's specific playoff role will be a challenge to replicate with another player, maybe impossible. But they can still put some size out there. It pretty much is going to be impossible, at least with the current roster. The ability to stand out in front of the net and make plays is certainly a talent in its own right. But again, I'm not complaining about the trade. The value that we got for Buff was very good.

    You can tell who's a new Hawks fan and who's not by the reaction over Buff being traded. I saw so many Facebook and Twitter posts yesterday saying that the Hawks were a "joke" and that they're "just another Chicago team trading away only the good players." I bet these people don't even know what a salary cap is.

    At that point, I really wouldn't care who we'd pick at #8. If we can unload Deng's contract for that, I'd be ecstatic. Do the same with Hinrich and call it a draft.

    A guy that everyone liked was going to get moved. Sucks that it's Buff, but I can't be opposed to it. We obviously had to do something. Correct me if I'm wrong but that should be the only real substantial deal that we have to make with everything now, correct? Or do we still need to trade another piece?

    Just for the simple fact that he's been one of my favorite players over the last seven years, I hope he comes back strong. But I'm not getting my hopes up. This year's a lost cause.

    Love the NBA Draft replays on NBATV. They were replaying the 95 one yesterday and Pitino was just clamoring about how great of a player Tyus Edney was going to be in the 2nd round. Besides the interesting analysis, it's also amazing to see how far the presentation has come in 15 years.

    I know Magic's a part-owner of the Lakers, but why the hell does ESPN have him as a studio analyst when his team's in the Finals? Typical ESPN.

    Every beat writer does fluff pieces for every team during this time of the year. I bet there's some writers in Detroit that are conjuring up playoff predictions because of how good they look on 7 on 7 drills. Have you ever really heard of a terrible OTA practice or a guy that's been abysmal during workouts? I haven't.

    I hate the thought of trading Sharp cause he is one of the original players who started the Hawks road back to respectability, but if they get a good deal (ie high draft pick, 2nd rd, plus a top 6 prospect) I could see the Hawks making the trade. But I prefer they don't give players away for the sake of getting out of "Cap hell." We're not going to have a choice this offseason. Obviously you don't really want to get rid of any of these players that are being talked about in deals, with the exception being Huet. In a perfect world, we'd be able to keep Sharp, Buff, Versteeg, Campbell, etc. That's obviously not going to happen.

    Kyle's saying that Sharp should be moved over Buff because literally every cent is going to count in the offseason. $900,000 is a lot to be saved for a team that is playing right up to the cap going into next season. I agree that Sharp is the better player (I don't even think it's that close, really) but he's still making more money. There's going to be a move or two made in the next few days, I think.

    Same here. Never had a problem. thats a totally different story in MPLS. the cabbies up there are famous for taking long circuitous routes (especially if they think you are from out of town) and I personally have a friend who was locked in a cab and harassed for money when she was $1-2 short on a $20 fair. cabbies suck. GO KANE Just proves that Chicago's the best city in the world.
