We didn't sign LeBron James and Chris Bosh this offseason. The Bulls actually supposedly sold several hundred season tickets in June based on the speculation of the Bulls signing LeBron, including a guy I work with, so I have no doubt we'd be beyond sold out for the home debut of these guys, whether it was on Saturday night or Tuesday morning. Oh, I know. Not saying I disagree with you. Just found it odd that a team that has sold out as many games as we have is having trouble getting a full house for opening night on a weekend.

Funk kept mentioning that there were "great seats still available" for our home opener on Saturday too.

Hopefully Favre's out for the year too. That'd be karma. Actually, that'd probably suck considering Jackson is a better player than Favre right now.

The NFL allows 37.5% of teams to make the playoffs. MLB allows 26.7%. If you allowed one more wild card in each league then MLB would be at 33.3%, still the most exclusive of the major North American sports. I have absolutely no problem with adding in another playoff team from each league.

I can't go to that board anymore. From the eternal optimism to the overreaction of one game against a very good team, that board just doesn't add up. It's one game. The refs were [expletive] horrible but they took one of the best teams in the West down to the wire without Boozer. Live and learn.

I learned yesterday that I think I'd enjoy seeing Bosh fail more than the other two guys.

Under 46.5 wins? Even with an injured Boozer, I think they should pass that mark with room to spare. Remember in 06-07, they won 49 games. I'd take this team over that team every single time.

Somebody other than the ref on the field decides, right? I like that, but I hate that they review so frequently. I also don't like how they review plays. More often that not, they determine that the play is inconclusive (even when there's enough visual evidence to overturn a call) and don't change the call that's on the field. It's a better system than what the NFL has but the head ref should be able to go under the hood, unlike in college. -
and i'm hearing major major good things for the illini. That's what I've heard too.

This should be a loss but I think every rational Packer fan thought we'd lose last week. If we somehow pull it off, we're looking at a great shot of being 6-3 headed into the bye. Make it happen.

At one point in the game, Dallas had 0 turnovers compared to three for the Giants. Two of the turnovers set Dallas up deep inside Giants territory. Dallas also had the PR TD by Bryant. Oh yeah, they were also down 21-20.

Random Dooley story. A couple of years ago, Louisiana Tech played NIU in the Independence Bowl. We ended up staying in the Hilton down there, which is where the La Tech team stayed at. On the morning of the game, we went downstairs to get breakfast and all of the Tech coaches, including Dooley, were saying how much of a cakewalk NIU would be because of the "midwestern speed" they possessed as well as playing in the MAC. It was pretty funny to hear just because you don't really see what coaches really think when they're off camera. The game ended up being a pretty competitive one, and NIU probably would've wound up winning if they knew how to cover a kick return. All that said, I think Dooley's a little out of his league right now. Comments like the ones he made today aren't going to help that either.

Really wish we weren't bitten by the injury bug as much as we have been this year. In a very weak conference, I think a healthy Packers team would be the best team in the NFC. The conference, and division, have looked about as bad as I can remember. But it is what it is. Injuries are a part of the game and we're fortunate that the division and conference blow. Because of that, I don't see anybody running away with either the North or the NFC itself. -
If he really does have a fractured ankle, why in God's name would he play? I mean it's not like he's playing like he was last season. He's been bad this season. Could a healthy T-Jack really be that much worse? Remember, they did make the playoffs with him at QB a couple of seasons ago.

It's his deal. Back to the officiating that was just horrendous all game. They didn't call a hold all game, right? At most it was one. They blew the TD to Quarless but Childress still blew it by not challenging it when he should have. The back judge was standing 5 feet from Percy in the end zone and he wasn't even close to getting his right foot down. It was just terrible all around. The officiating was bad, but it wasn't any worse than the calls in the Dallas-Minnesota game. The only difference is this time the calls went against the Vikings rather than for them. or Favre's numerous turnovers that were negated by ticky-tack penalties (Suh touching Favre's head, Houston's within 5 yards illegal contact, to name just a couple) in the Lions game they'll need a lot more bad calls coming their way before they're "even" That was one of the most ridiculous officiating jobs I've ever seen.

There were quite a few obvious holds that were missed in that game. I believe there were 0 holding penalties in 60 minutes of football. That's impossible.
