  1. That's what I thought. But that may have been more of a Sweum thing.
  2. Uh. I guess Wilson. Both horrible pass Ds. I think Dallas has a better chance at a blowout, do Romo may not throw all game long.
  3. Taylor is getting goalline carries. I'd strongly consider him. Otherwise, probably gotta go with Bowe. I failed to mention it's a PPR league. That change your opinion? I picked up Cadet when Thomas went down and he was already starting to get heavily implemented into the passing game plan even before PT suffered the injury. I had pretty much decided to go with Bowe (the scoring in the league leans towards yards/catches more so than strictly TDs) but THIS ARTICLE is making me reconsider. F it. Go Cadet now that Robinson is out too.
  4. Only a matter of time until Sharpton takes over for Williams too. Already comes in for him in the nickel and the Bears play mostly nickel so........
  5. Titans supposedly have a lot of guys on the trading block. Most interesting to the Bears would probably be Jason McCourty at CB. I don't imagine he'd take more than a 3rd day pick, and he would be a solid veteran CB with Fuller iffy and depth mostly inexperienced.
  6. Taylor is getting goalline carries. I'd strongly consider him. Otherwise, probably gotta go with Bowe.
  7. Green is playing. I'd go with Bradshaw, Vereen and Forsett. I need a QB between: Ryan v. Detroit Dalton v. Baltimore And a Flex: L Miller v Jax S Vereen v Chi D Baldwin v Car
  8. Yeah, I think you can grab them and hold them if it's clear you're not setting up another guy to rush the passer nor can you if the lineman is going out for a screen.
  9. It's the latter. I think Ola is acceptable as a swing OL and Mills would be acceptable as a backup but neither should be a starter. I'm fine with either as long as they are clearly the worst OL out there on any given day and they get help. But recently we've seen Slauson struggle (1st game back from injury), DLP struggle, Bushrod be a little iffy (again 1st game back). I still think Mills is going to get better. Probably only marginally at this point, but hopefully he can get to as close to averageish as possible.
  10. Well yeah it's real. They're playing in London. Yeah, I knew it was in London. I didn't know if it was 9:30PM London time, which is why Yahoo was showing 9:30. Usually the London games are still at 1 EST.
  11. I'm not sure if you're only basing it on that chat response but if so, I wouldn't put much stock into something from that setting. Especially given all the political ramifications of that question. I've come around to really liking Emery's ability to address needs on this team. The two bad moves he's made so far is hiring Trestman and picking Shea in the 1st round. Lamarr Houston and Jared Allen have been pretty [expletive] signings so far. His drafts have been pretty craptastic so far as well although he's for sure done better than Angelo. Uh, he's drafted a pro bowl guard, WR, and DROTY at CB. Jury is still out on Bostic and trending up. And that doesn't include Mills who at least has been worth a 5th round pick and the rest of the 2014 draft.
  12. So, Chandler Jones is out for a month. #break
  13. Wow, that early game is real? I saw on my fantasy lineup that Calvin Johnson had a game at 9:30AM and I thought it was Yahoo doing weird [expletive] again. Like every once in a while, they'll randomly put games in PST. Is this game airing on national TV? I'd watch it....well because it's football.
  14. My 10-years and running keeper league went to 1 RB, 2 WRs and a FLEX this year, because of this fact. My 12 team league actually starts 3 RBs and 4 WRs and I don't mind it too much. It's very rare for any team to have 3 quality RBs starting (obviously) so it kind of evens out, but if you do have 3 quality RBs you have a major competitive edge. Right now I'm starting Foster, Branden Oliver and McFadden and its been working out ok. The worst thing about my league is we also start 2 QBs. Do the math...12 teams, 2 starters, 1 bench guy for injuries/bye weeks thats 36 QBs. Obviously only 32 start in the NFL so there are always teams in my league that literally are forced to start a backup hoping that the starter gets injured or replaced during the game or starting someone like Michael Vick and hoping they bring him in to run the wildcat or something. When your opponent has 2 QBs each putting up 20+ points and you start a guy who doesn't play, its almost always a guaranteed loss. League sounds like a mess. In a 2-QB league, I'd draft a QB first round every time, especially top 5-6. You have to have at least 1 elite QB in order to win. And if you get a Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Luck, you can wait a little longer for your 2nd QB and make up your potential disadvantage at RB while everyone is scrambling for the last QBs.
  15. Of the 210 NFL teams to start a season 0-3 at home, 3 of them have made the playoffs. The most recent....the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles actually started 0-4 at home (3-1 on the road, 3-5 overall) and finished 10-6. The 1st 3 home losses? 2 vs. AFC teams thought to be rebuilding at that point (SD, KC) and an embarassing loss to their biggest rival in the division. Eagles had 4 of their last 6 games at home, including 2 in December vs.a warm weather or dome team. Won all 4. Bears have 5 of last 7 at home, 3 of them are against dome teams in December. Eagles actually were 5-1 on the road at one point. After a game where they put up 7 points at home with a pair of INTs and a fumble on offense, they got it turned around with back-to-back road games on their schedule in Weeks 9 and 10. Their week 10 opponent? At Green Bay (though it was without Rodgers, but they were also breaking in Foles full-time as their starter). The Eagles offense got going when they started leaning on McCoy in the run game more and got the ball out of Foles' hands and into his playmakers hands quicker, minimizing his mistakes and sacks allowed. There is hope for the Bears. But Trestman has gotta start using his team's strengths. Get these big WRs the ball earlier (not on WR screens) and let them use their bodies to shield defenders, because they aren't going to outrun anyone to get open. Force smaller corners to tackle Marshall and Jeffery. It's also when Cutler and McCown were at their best last season.
  16. Yeah, I think we were spoiled last year. They made impossible catches all the time. Especially Jeffery. I felt he should have come down with the deep ball near the endzone yesterday. There's a couple others this year too. They aren't coming down with the contested balls as much this year. They caught so many while covered well last year, and being that they aren't fast/quick, they aren't going to always be running away from defenders. They need to make some more plays, frankly.
  17. Of course they are underperforming. But they've underperformed for what is almost half a season now. It doesn't take long for this spiral to continue and effectively end this season.
  18. Apparently, he's day-to-day. Not ruled out for this week.
  19. Still, if this team goes 7-9 or 8-8, they are set to bring back all 11 starters on an offense that isn't good enough and 7 of the 11 starters on defense (though a couple more could be upgraded fairly easily). Basically, if this is a 7-9 offense, they don't have anyone that's going anywhere except maybe Mills. Unlike last year, there aren't enough realistic upgrades on defense to take this team from 7-9 to the playoffs unless the offense goes back to 2013 form.
  20. My 10-years and running keeper league went to 1 RB, 2 WRs and a FLEX this year, because of this fact.
  21. I'd rather have a veteran laden team that sucks than a young team that sucks, because at least a veteran team that sucks could theoretically improve with an influx of young talent. If you're young and you suck that suggests you suck at finding young talent and there is no fix for that. Ah good point. I guess it's more like a veteran laden team with contracts you can't get rid of. {hiladelphia Phillies style
  22. The worst thing possible is to have a veteran laden team and suck. The Bears do have some building blocks in place that are young or young enough (Fuller, maybe Conte, drafted DTs, Young, Houston, Jeffery, Long, maybe Mills). But they have very important players that are vets like Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Allen, Jennings who all have contracts (save for Allen) that aren't easy to get rid of if you suck and have to rebuild. Hell, Marshall, Cutler and Jennings all signed new long-term deals in the last 6 months.
  23. Sure they could use an MLB but I wouldn't complain if they add a guy like Shaq Thompson. Yeah, that would largely depend on Bostic being able to play MLB. I don't know that he gets a chance this year, even if Williams gets benched because Sharpton appears to be next in line. But yeah, Shaq might be more of what this team needs with his speed.
  24. To be fair, Greene was pretty good last week. But he's probably best in that role as a backup and an emergency starter. I like Bostic as the WLB next year, with Jones as the SLB. They need to get a Mike LB though, Sharpton could be in the mix or maybe Jones can play there. But McClellin and Greene shouldn't be starters for a legit NFL team.
