  1. Cedeno is having a good day, so maybe Neifi will start at 3B tomorrow.
  2. Let's go baby! WOO! Really impressed with the offense today. Good patience shown. Great job getting runs with the wind howling in.
  3. Mr. Cedeno 1/2 way to the cycle! Hecks yeah!
  4. Darn. Wish I could see the game. You would think Murton at his size would have an arm, though. Maybe he can play RF?
  5. Like I said Wednesday, a lot of you may think he's overpaid and past his prime, but when the chips are down (or, we are missing chips, in the case of the rotation) Maddux will deliver the results. I'd like more consistent delivery service. But he's always right on time. Never misses a scheduled delivery. He'll do it mediocrely (heh, nice word) too!
  6. Aaron Miles is a switch hitter? Who knew?
  7. Jones is last in the majors in batting.
  8. Gameday would be wrong. They screwed up their own count. 2 pitches a piece to Eckstein and Encarnacion and 4 to AP. Fred has 13 in his line score.
  9. Agreed. The Cards big 3 is better than the Cubs big 3. I'd take Cubs other 5 vs. the Cards 5, though. I'm just curious as to who is the 3rd of our big 3. Is it the guy who's on the bench today? Barrett, but there's not a lot of difference. Yeah, Barrett. Assume for a minute Barrett's hitting 5th.... The Cards have the edge 3-5 (Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen) over the Cubs 3-5 (Lee, Ramirez, Barrett), and actually the Cubs combo was better to a man last season. I'd take the Cubs leadoff man over the Cards. I'd take each of the Cubs 6-7-8 hitters over the Cards (hypothetically with Jones 6th).

  11. I see...so both teams have forsaken the #2 spot... :P The Cards lineup is uglier than the Cubs. that's why i don't think the cards will win the central this year. that lineup sucks. they have five black holes in their lineup (six if you count the pitcher). if pujols, edmonds, or rolen slump/get hurt, they're going to have problems scoring runs. Who do you think will win? The Cubs have a shot at 6 holes (depending on Murton and Pierre). Could the Astros actually have the best non-Cincinnati offense in the division? They only have 2 legit holes, and Ausmus was pretty decent last year. Biggio, Berkman, Lane, and Ensberg are solid. Tavarez could be.

Other than Andre Miller, who was I hard on? Marbury has averaged 20 ppg consistently in the NBA. Kurt Thomas has been very successful. Bonzi Wells is at least decent. Tim Thomas, Mercer, Jason Williams, Barry, Odom, Maggette, Gooden are all solid players. Again, would you draft Marbury if you could do it all over again? Would you want him on your team? Ditto for Wells. That next group you mentioned are not successful relative to their draft position. I didn't think that was the point. I thought it was to show that a lot of top 15 picks have not been successful. It wasn't about who I would take on the Bulls or who is successful relative to their draft position.

  14. Cards SS-Eckstein RF- Encarnacion 1B- Pujols CF- Edmonds 3B- Rolen LF- Taguchi C- Bennett 2B- Miles SP- Suppan Cubs CF- Pierre 2B- Perez 1B- Lee 3B- Ramirez RF- Jones C- Barrett LF- Murton SS- Cedeno SP- Maddux
  15. More reason to hate Neifi. He assaults the elderly.

  17. I'd better see if I can work up some arm strength before then! Go sidearm.

You're a little hard on some players. Some of those players have averaged 20+ points at times in their careers. A lot of other players have had good careers.
  19. I don't think he will. It's gonna take him a while, if ever, to get back to the guy who posted ERAs in the low 3's in Houston. I think the best we can hope for out of him is Maddux like numbers, which is still better than Rusch and Williams at this point. I expect Z to be a legit #1 again. Wood and Prior will put up numbers like a high #2 starter if they are healthy. Miller and Maddux will put up numbers like good #4 starters.
