Sooner or later someone in the org. has to recognize TheRiot as a much better (and cheaper) option than Neifi. I don't necessarily agree that Theriot is a better player than Neifi. But for the money, you wouldn't lose much going to the much cheaper Theriot. Ryan is a much better option than Bynum though, by far.
12 pitch 1-2-3 fourth inning for Angel. Flyball to deep CF, 5th K, and groundout. Despite giving up 5 runs, he has a very respectable 63 pitches (only 36 strikes though) in 4 innings.
I'm actually sick of waiting. The NFL does a great job of capturing the attention of the masses all year long. They freaking had a live unveiling of next year's schedule. But I believe this is the latest we've waited for a draft, at least in a long time. It's usually in mid-April. I can't remember it ever being this late in the year. I thought it was always last weekend in April. Yep. 23-24th last year, 24th-25th in 04.
LIX just missed a HR to dead CF, but settles for a RBI triple scoring Casey Kopitzke who led off the inning with a 4-pitch walk and was bunted to 2B by Guzman. The Riot now drives home Pie with a single. 5-2 Topes
Guzman with a rough and inconsistent 1st. Leadoff double, 1-3 groundout, 4-pitch walk, 4-pitch K, 2-run double, 1-pitch warning track flyout. 1 IP, 2 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR Pie led off the game with a swinging strikeout.
This should be a good opportunity for Sean Marshall to bust out with a great game. The lineup he will face will have a bunch of slap hitters. The only power likely in the Dodgers lineup is Drew, Kent and Saenz. Marshall has actually fared pretty well against RHs this year with LHs hitting him well to the tune of a 1.000 OPS.
Yeah, I want to go TE then CB. I think there's a bigger difference between Lewis/Pope to Klopfenstein/Fasano than there is from the 1st round CBs to the 2nd rounders. I like the CB from Texas in the 2nd, who I can't think of his name right now. Good size, good hitter, hard worker....reminds me of a bigger Vasher actually.
I don't like either of those players. I think Youboty is overrated and Fasano is just gonna be average. Jonathan Joseph from the other USC is flying up the board (great speed) and is above Youboty now. Really though, I have really turned my hopes to Marcedes Lewis. He has all the makings of an elite pass catching TE.
Yep, bad lineup without Kent and Nomar, not great with them. I'll be disappointed if LA gets more than 2 runs tonight. Lowe will be tough on the freeswinging Cubs though. I was very tempted to add to this comment that the Cubs would probably lose 2-1. I just had one of those feelings. And yes, the Cubs are free-swingers. Lowe only had 100 pitches thru 7. Walker, Lee, and Murton will take pitches. But Pierre, Jones, Cedeno/Perez, and Ramirez will swing early and often.
