  1. Anyone know what's up with Meredith. He's sliding hard. If he or Robinson is still available when we pick next, I guess Angelo scores again. I don't know but he'd be a great pick. Fits in with the Bears recent OL moves to get bigger. He profiles as a OG, but is OT size.
  2. Whoever said the Bears zero in on a few schools and draft from there may be on to something. Seems like the last 5 years, they've only scouted Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Texas, and schools with unter 10K enrollment.
  3. Don't sleep on Knox. He's a pretty good talent. 4.28 at the combine. Still shoulda gone OL here, but there are still some guys on the board with another pick 13 away. Why JA refuses to take OL early unless he has to is beyond me.
  4. No, not in the least. He's only 5'9", 193.
  5. I woulda gone Johnson, Iglesias, Sidbury, Freeman. But I'm not in the least disappointed with the draft right now.
  6. Analysis Positives: Good upper body build for his size. Very quick to support the run or attack quick screens and passes in the flat. Quick reactions and instincts make him a natural in zone. Not contact shy, so receivers will expect to get hit on shorter routes. Sits on routes and closes very quickly to make quarterbacks pay if they birddog. Looks like he knows routes as well as the receiver does. Very good straight-line speed and will chase his teammates' receivers downfield. Tries to knock the ball out after securing the tackle. As a slot receiver, Moore has the strength to get off the line, elusiveness in the open field, reliable hands to adjust to poor throws and an ability to track the ball over either shoulder. Extremely quick feet on routes, accelerating past defenders. Uses those receiver skills after interceptions. Negatives: Barely adequate height for a corner. Thin legs. Not asked to press much. Lack of size could make bringing down bigger and quicker NFL receivers tough when closing fast. Can be dominated by good blocking receivers. A bit slow to react when receiver stutters and heads up the field. May not have the recovery speed to catch up to quicker NFL receivers using fakes or double moves, and his aggressive style could also cost him in this regard. Doesn't always secure the ball or make good decisions on punt returns while trying to do too much.
  7. Yes! Some had Moore as high as the 5th best CB in this draft. This has turned into a pretty good day for the Bears already.
  8. Haha. I saw that. Saints are the only team ahead of the Bears and they've already taken a CB and a S in the draft. The Bears still have to be willing to choose DJ. Depending on where they plan on playing Melton and Gilbert, they could need a DE, DT or LB still. DB is still clearly the biggest need, though, but is it in the Bears eyes? Could also go OG or another WR.
  9. There's some RBs that have slipped some. Jennings, Ringer, A. Brown, J. Davis. RB could be a spot the Bears could be looking with this next pick. Moore and Duke still on the board, though.
  10. Does sound like he might be able to play some SLB. And I love the potential for the Bears to get a strong pass rusher from the LB position. Phillip Hunt from Houston may have been a better choice for that though.
  11. After reading this, I stand corrected. I thought he was a late 4th to mid 5th pick. I knew the Bears would pick him eventually, as they loved him at the Texas pro day. But yeah, they coulda waited til the 5th most likely. It sounds like the guy MIGHT justify using that pick on him, but still...they could have taken someone else and got him later. He'd easily still be there on our next pick for sure. I love his athletic ability. Anybody who can move from RB to starting DE for one of the best teams in the country is definitely worth keeping an eye on. However, it was a reach. The Bears clearly like rare athletic ability, so DJ Moore should have been strongly considered with his 3-story building vertical jump.

  13. Can't believe they've ignored DB so far. DJ Moore was as close to a no-brainer as there was right there. I thought he would be gone by now, which is why I wanted the Bears to take him at 99 and take the chance Iglesias would still be there.
  14. Melton is a decent pick. Probably coulda waited til 119 easily though. But he was a sleeper according to some people.
  15. I'll take a Derrick Mason on the Bears. Yes please. Iglesias was right up there with Robiske for me as far as safe picks for WR goes, and most likely to contribute right away. He's a perfect fit for what the Bears try to do, get guys the ball in space and let them run after the catch. Similar to Bennett in a lot of ways, but a better route runner.
  16. Rather have Matt Jones or maybe DJ Hackett. I'd like to see them sign Mike Brown at this point, with no FS likely to be brought in til the 5th round at this point.
  17. Bears got 2 of my top 7 guys. Never thought that would be possible. I'd love Duke Robinson at 105, but I think the Bears go DB.
  18. I'm thinking DJ Moore and Murphy. Murphy has more much speed than Iglesias. They need a poss. WR more than another Hester (murphy) Murphy's much different from Hester. He's 6'2", 205 lbs, bigger than Hester. He has speed, but projects to be a guy that can go over the middle better than Hester.
  19. I'm thinking DJ Moore and Murphy. Murphy has more much speed than Iglesias.
  20. Not according to the NFL Network. I thought they made two solid picks with the two CBs yesterday, but the Pat White thing doesn't make any sense. I liked Patrick TURNER, but he was definitely a reach in the third. Exactly. Turner was a reach. White isn't a great fit considering they could use a real WR and they already have a solid wildcat and supposedly their QB of the future.
  21. I know Parcells is a football God and all, but the Dolphins have had a bad draft.
  22. Wasn't big on Barden, but still disappointed that another potential WR option is off the board. Iglesias and Murphy are still around.
  23. FYI, the 99th pick can't be traded because it is a comp pick. It would take the 1st 4th and a 5th to move up in the 3rd. Be well worth it, IMO.
  24. Ouch. I know the Bears really liked Tate and Wallace.
