  1. 5 x 5 league. I have. I'm picking 5 out of 10 teams. Should I go after Figgins and completely sew up the SB and probably Runs categories? But he's not eligible at 2B yet. Adam Dunn? Or SP with Lackey, Weaver, Kazmir, Burnett, Shields, Baker? Or get another dominant RP like Krod, Brian Wilson, Marmol? 2. Suhey's not obscure, but I'd love his jersey. My favorite obscure Bears jersey would be Vestee Jackson #24 former CB.
  3. Houston Texans select CB Dominique Franks, Oklahoma
  4. I've missed 1/2 the games that have gone final so far. But still have all of my Sweet 16 in tact. Oh yeah, and Louisville is indeed, not a good team. Neither is Notre Dame. I believe they had the resumes to make it in a down year, but in a normal year they aren't even close.
  5. Payton #34 is all I have. In white, because that's what he wore in Superbowl XX I was really close to getting a Forte jersey, but couldn't decide between him and Cutler at the last minute and wanted to wait until after a successful 2009 season and get the player that had the better year just in time for the playoffs. I was really wanting a Forte, because #22 is my favorite number as far as jerseys go. But now, he's a possible backup and potential flame out by the end of 2010. I ruled out Cutler, for the most part, because I don't really want to wear a single digit number.
  6. I think Favre is coming back for 1 more year. Then I think the Vikes make a big splash again at QB. Why not go the Packers route and let him sit for a year or two? Why wait until Favre is gone and then throw a rookie in the fire? Who said anything about a rookie? I said big splash, again....I thought it was pretty obvious that I meant a FA signing. McNabb will be a FA after 2010.
  7. I'm glad you feel this way (if you are a rams fan). Most Rams fans I have talked to hate the idea of drafting a QB at #1. But I think it has to be done.

  9. I think Bell. Peterson is likely gone, and I wasn't impressed with Wolfe. It's going to be the best ST player, which I think is Peterson. Peterson is unrestricted. He also is NOT a better special teams player than Wolfe anymore. He didn't get CBA-ified back to restricted status? What does Wolfe do on ST nowadays? I can't picture him making plays. Either way, with 2 higher profile runners, the 3rd back isn't going to be playing RB barring massive injuries. No, I believe Peterson has 6 years in. And Wolfe led ST in tackles in 2008. He was leading in 2009 before he got hurt.

  11. Wanted Kyle Wilson to fall here, but there is still a need a DT. The best 2 players on the board that fit a need are Dan Williams and Brian Price, who might be the best 2 on the board period. I have seen more of Williams, which is why.... Houston Texans select Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee.
  12. Putting Olsen at WR takes away a big part of what makes him successful. Speed mismatches. If Martz is such an offensive guru, he should find a way to get Olsen the ball.
  13. even if I show in the draft room....text me at 724-886-6052 when its my turn
  14. Been unavailable all day. I haven't talked to WF22, but I would go Iupati or Pouncey here. I like Pouncey a lot. He actually reminds me of former Steeler Dermonti Dawson.
  15. I feel like half of Cutler's INTs last year were a result of trying to find Olsen in a sea of defenders. Maybe this will help him. The other half of Cutler's INTs came from miscommunication between Knox and Cutler. And the third half was the diebetes. I don't know why that made me laugh as hard as it did.
  16. Bears have signed Manumanaleuna to a 5-year deal.
  17. I'd say no, unless they can make another couple deals where they get a couple picks in the top 80 at least. Boldin is 30, an injury risk, and may not be able to perform outside of a high powered passing game. Of course, if all goes as planned, that's exactly what the Bears O will be.
  18. If the Bears sign Peppers That depends entirely on what kind of contract they sign him to. Presumably, if they give him a signing bonus that would cause the cap hit to be spread out over every season. However, if they put most of the money into his 2010 salary, that might make it easier, although I'm not sure if they have rules around it. It's hard to say exactly how it would affect the cap, but I'd have to assume it will affect it significantly if/when the CBA is announced. There is a rule that a player can't take more than like a 48% pay cut in successive years of a multi-year contract, or somethign like that. So, they couldn't pay him 20Mil in 2010 and 1Mil in 2011.
  19. Only 13 players had 10 or more sacks last year. Of them Andre Carter and Aaron Schobel were at least 30. Julius Peppers and Dwight Freeney both turned 30 within 2 weeks of playing their last game this year. Joey Porter, John Abraham, and Darren Howard did it in 2008. Kearney, Vrabel, and Jason Taylor did it in 2007. There really aren't that many guys putting up double digit sacks anymore at any age.
  20. I'm not a big believer in the whole, making everybody around him better thing. But Peppers is the kind of huge name that could give the Bears D its swagger back. Urlacher, Briggs, and Harris are going to see that they are getting that help on D and I have to believe it will motivate them to get back to playing at an elite level. I would maybe do something like 5/$70Mil with 30 guaranteed and look to make a 2-year run with him and the rest of the boys. Peppers improving the pass rush makes the DBs better and hopefully frees up Harris to get more 1-on-1s.
  21. yeah, but we can't ignore the line, either. Ignore it? No. But from what I understand, there isn't that slam-dunk guy the Bears could sign to make it all better. On the other hand, Peppers would be huge, and Marshall as well, and they should be available (albeit -- expensive in terms of either money or trade value). So I'm assuming the Bears are concentrating on what they feel they can make big strides in, given that the draft just isn't going to do it for them this year. If they did acquire Peppers I also assume they'd go OG with one of their earlier picks. Should be able to pick up a decent OG around the 3rd. Exactly. If you can shore up the DE and FS positions, which may be the easiest of the Bears needs to fill based on who's available, then you can focus on OL in the draft. You can probably get one of the top 3 OGs at the 74th pick. If they get the 2nd for Olsen, they can get a top 2 OG or a pretty good OT still.
  22. Care to mention any names? please don't. i'm depressed enough as it is. All I have heard is Derek Elston. Are there others?
  23. Here's a thought. Would the Bears be going after a 2nd round pick in order to go after a restricted free agent? Pierre Thomas, maybe Brandon Marshall?

    Trade

Ok, I want to either move into the top 2 or move down in the draft. Anybody willing to swap 1st and 2nd round picks?
