  1. IU won it's exhibition game tonight, 89-37. Christian Watford put up 25. But got little help from the rest of the frontcourt. Guy Marc-Michel didn't play due to a hopefully temporary eligibility issue (had 14 and 10 in a team scrimmage this weekend). Pritchard had 7 boards but no points. Elston put up 9, but only had 1 non-jump shot attempt. Maurice Creek played 20 minutes and put up 16 w/ 5 boards. Matt Roth also came back and played 13 minutes. Freshman Victor Oladipo started and went 4-4 with 9 points and 2 steals in 13 minutes. He started for Verdell Jones who has an injured ankle (in a boot). Best news of the night may be that Rivers only played the 8th most minutes and didn't start even w/ VJ3 out.
  2. A week ago, this looked like a bad coinflip scenario. But do I start: BJ Green-Ellis vs. Cleveland or LaGarette Blount vs. Atlanta.
  3. Eh, why not? Wall, Kevin Love, Beasley, and Durant were all 1st team in recent years as FROSH. Not like there's a bunch of household names in the NCAA this year.
  4. You're thinking of Alan Henderson. I believe it was a knee injury. I know who I'm thinking of. I'll never forget it. Tore his ACL in practice when IU was No. 1 and running away with the Big Ten, returned for the NCAA Tournament but was nowhere close to healthy. That team losing is probably my lowest sports moment ever. Yeah that sucked, badly. Still, Todd Leary's lights out shooting almost gave IU the comeback win after being down like 8 to Duke in the last 40 seconds. Henderson was never really the same ever again. That team was loaded. Henderson, Calbert Cheaney, Brian Evans, and Damon Bailey were all on that team and at least 1 of them was on the All America team every year from 91-96. Cheaney was POTY in 93.
  5. Interesting numbers. I don't know if you can take anything from this, but the Bears are 3-1 after their last 4 byes under Lovie. Last year was a tough loss in Atlanta, where Cutler threw a red zone INT, Forte fumbled at the 1, and Pace false started on 4th and 1 inside the 5 on 3 different red zone trips. But their 3 wins have come against bad teams like SF in 06 (41-10), Oakland in 07, and an 0-16 Detroit team in 2008. FWIW, Bears lost @ Cle in 05 and vs. Wash in 04. But yeah, doesn't really tell us much. I don't think Lovie has not had his teams prepared coming out of the bye, I just don't think there's just enough to go off of as the Bears either played or were a horrible team for most of those years.
  6. Zeller was at IU this weekend for a visit I believe. I guess that is a good sign that Perea announced his intent while Zeller was visiting?
  7. I have a strange, unjustified affinity for Gary Varsho.
  8. I could not believe there was no challenge. It wasn't fathomable that you wouldn't make that challenge. Incompetence is the perfect way to describe it. This is the NFL. They can do better. We deserve better. I understand if Lovie didn't want to lose the challenge and lose 2 timeouts in a row. But he shouldn't have challenged the first damn play. And that's a chance you take. It's either 7 points or 0 points and you don't have the ball. You still had the lead at that point. If you go up 21-10 who cares if you have 1 timeout. If you don't get the call, you still have the lead and were in position (a few more times) to score and make the timeout situation moot.
  9. At least we're not the Saints. Getting blown the eff out at home vs. Cleveland.
  10. At least the OL played well. :banghead:
  11. Why anyone ever plays zone against the Bears....I don't know.
  12. Missed an easy fn throw!
  13. Now the defense has given up.
  14. This is the Detroit game all over. Hope we win this because of a stupid rule too.
  15. Bears have a bunch of dumb players.
  16. Lovie's call has nothing to do with that wack ass throw.
  17. Forte has to make him miss.
  18. Good calls on this drive.
  19. Worst OL in the league, bad receivers, mediocre at best RB, and the worst tactical coach in the business.
  20. Great catch, guy with girl name!
  21. That's on Hester. Go get the damn ball.
  22. Better score a TD on this drive. Just had 2 of them taken away.
