  1. I wonder if they would take Griese for Carr, stright up. Griese and a late round pick for Carr? I'd be interested. I'd let Grossman and Carr battle it out in camp. I'd definitely be interested. A little competition may help Grossman. Or hurt him. It looked to me that Lovie was trying to build up his confidence and this move would shoot that all work down. It was pretty clear to me during the Superbowl, that the Bears have very little confidence in Grossman. He wasn't asked to do anything in that game until the 4th. They made every effort to hide him.

  3. Carr isn't a world beater but, according to DPAR, he was better than Grossman this year. He might do better on a team that is, you know, actually good. Here is the DPAR for the superbowl. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6443644
  4. There were rumors a couple weeks ago about David Carr being available for a 3rd round pick. Should the Bears be interested?
  5. Can we make and Eli Manning thread so OleMiss can tout him there? Seriously, I don't give a crap about Eli Manning. If he's better than Grossman he's BARELY better than Grossman. Who cares.
  6. It's great to hear, from a pitcher who relied so heavily on striking out batters in the minors, that there's value to saving pitches. He just figured this out? Did Greg Maddux need to tell him this? yeah, what a loser. i wish he were dead. Lame.
  7. I take back what I said about D. Manning then. That play was an enourmous boner.
  8. Pretty sure it was Harris. It was Manning. He played FS. Urlacher ripped into Manning on the sideline following that TD. I think Simms pointed out Manning and called him Harris on that play, if memory serves. Probably why I was confused.
  9. Not a fair assessment because Giants fans hate everybody on their team. Typical New York sports fans. Everybody on that team hates everyone else on the team. That's just a messed up franchise. They desperately need a new Head Coach. That's not true. NY fans worship at the alter of good players and good teams. Eli just isn't that good. He's got all the bad aspects of Rex without the success of making it to the Super Bowl to soften the blow. He's clearly had better weapons at his disposal but hasn't done anymore with them than Rex has done with the Bears minimal options. I dunno, he was basically stuck with only one WR for half the season after Toomer got DL'd, and I'd much rather have someone like Berrian than Plaxico, who's just an ass who quits on his routes. But no doubt, he's definitely got the best, or one of the best TE's in the game today. Eli also had one of the better pass catching backs in the history of football at his disposal.
  10. I am now excited for the Cubs.

They desperately need a new Head Coach. Not really. People don't like Eli because he's been not good. Also it seems he is unable to close his mouth and must leave it open or partially open at all times.
  12. He's the same guy who ran down Elis Hobbs in the AFCC game, I think. I do think Hester had started to coast a little bit there but that dude is fast.
  13. I think we have KR/PR all shored up.
  14. Yup. So did Harris. Disagree. Harris made the pick but then blew his assignment and let the Colts get an easy score.
  15. he seemed to be in position, alot better then before What happened with the early wide open TD? I forget who was in coverage. Chris Harris blew it.
  16. Did anyone else think D. Manning played a good game? I thought it was one of his better ones as a Bear.
  17. Yeah, I don't either.
  18. He was very very bad last night. That's just simply not true. He played well enough to win if the rest of the team wasn't so intent on turning the ball over and if the defense did anything. The defense was ho-hum, Benson didn't show up. No, Rex didn't have a good game, I'd call it below average. But he wasn't very very bad. I know people will push that as the official story, but it's just not the case. It is true. He wasn't good last night. Up until the last drive, when the outcome of the game was no longer in question, he was 16/24 119 yards 1TD 2 INT's(One returned for a TD) 2 fumbled snaps(one lost, and one recovered for a 12 yard loss). That's a terrible performance. There were also other throws that could, or should have been intercepted.
  19. He was very very bad last night. My real concerns stem from his trendline over the course of the season. While he was both up and down, generally speaking, he got worse as the season wore on. Frankly he looks awful back there. Fumbling snaps, throwing off his back foot (Did he step into a single throw last night?), making one read and hucking the ball down field, etc. It doesn't paint a picture of a QB that has much of a clue what is going on. He was bad against the Saints and even worse in the Superbowl. I sincerely hope that he progresses next season. I really do. But for the first time, I'm having some real doubts as to his long term prospects.
  20. Boy did he screw the pooch last night. Awful coaching job.
  21. I have to agree with you. You nailed a lot of points that I wanted to make. I'm starting to have serious doubts about the long term prospects of Grossman. I'm trying to have some persepctive here. If I wasn't a Bears fan, what would I think of Grossman? Honestly, I wouldn't think much. I'm really not in the mood to do a full write up with all the problems I'm seeing, but I'm pretty sure we all know what I'm talking about. As much as it makes me sick to think about going through another QB search, I starting to feel like that's what the Bears need to do.
  22. Sorry to society? What? Did Tank kill someone or something? How did the charges against him adversely affect society? Wow. What a complete and total moron. just wait until around the horn when plaschke likely takes 30 seconds to talk about what a horrible person tank johnson is He's comes across as such a whiney, mewling, stuttering, wiener boy on that show. I just want to pound him.

  24. Probably. What is the relationship between Lovie and the Bears owner and GM'? lovie was with angelo in tampa and was brought in by the man, who was desperate to get rid of hatley-hire jauron, going so far as to sabotage the 2003 bears by cutting ted washington, and watching the defense fall apart. i'll never forgive angelo for that, he's a low-down dirty piece of human garbage for stabbing jauron in the back like that--it was as transparent as you can get. however, angelo is the best GM in chicago save for kenny williams, who i don't really think about as i can care less about the sox. it's really ted phillips' call, he'll re-up them both soon enough. lovie is not a free agent. You couldn't possibly be any more wrong here if you tried.
