  1. I can't say that I am upset about this one. Patterson and Dubois were playing at a minor league level. I'm not sure about how much playing time the new kids on the block get, but I suppose we'll know soon enough. I don't think this is throwing in the towel on the season. Patterson and Dubois weren't carrying this team. They were anchors.
  2. Pardon the expression, but if its anything like "Smear the Queer", then yes. (Basically, a kid runs around with a ball until he gets flattened. The ball is then tossed up in the air and the process begins again. Sometimes it involved teams a la rugby; however, sometimes is was twenty against one.) Smear the Queer was the best game ever.
  3. I've seen that, don't know what it's called. I thought pepper was a game where you practice rundowns. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I think that is commonly refered to as "Pickle."
  4. I've seen that, don't know what it's called. I thought pepper was a game where you practice rundowns. That's pickle.
  5. I'd like to see Ditka on the bench.
  6. Perhaps we should sacrifice our coaching staff and most of our team to our gods. That might work out.
  7. Can't Holla play first. Are we resting him for the double header?
  8. Bwahahahaha! That's the best lineup ever!
  9. Is it kind of like Homer Simpson's boxing strategy? You know the one that consists of getting punched in the face the entire fight and then pushing the opponents over because they are so tired from relentlessly slamming you in the face as hard as they can. Because if it is like that, then we are looking pretty sweet.
  10. Is this thread about firing Dusty? :?
  11. I would say that every Score show is much weaker than it's ESPN counterpart. The Score's morning and afternoon shows are absolutely terrible. As is Murph. Jay Hood's solo show on the weekends is the only decent show on that station. Bors and Bernstien are interesting for about 3 mins until they inevitably degenerate into a nonstop stream of their little catch phrases ("Hello?") and goofy laughter at things that aren't remotely funny.
  12. I think that Abreu to the Cubs is about as likely as Mickey Mantle rising from the dead to play Center Field for us.
  13. I think we suck because we don't win that many games.
  14. Oswalt could be my least favorite player in MLB.
  15. I am sick of being sick of this team.
  16. Edit: Nevermind. I don't care.
  17. We have to if we're gonna meet Zambrano's goal of 120 wins. We might have to win a couple games twice.
  18. We will go 81-0 in the second half.

  20. until we have any kind of replacement that doesn't kill us defensively. Even todd walker who has ripped corey batting leadoff has said he has to play everyday. Even if his average drops under .220? Under .200? I'd be suprised if he goes under the mendoza line, but not that surprised considering the way things are going. yeah i mean a few years ago we challeneged for the division with gary matthews jr hitting right around there. corey has had pretty good success in the past. at some point I think he has to come on really strong. I too expect that he will break out of it. Though I have begun to question those expectations a little bit. He's killing us up there right now. Edit: Nefi is also killing me.

  22. Not to kick Corey when he is down, but how much longer does he continue playing at this point?
