    :| I've seen lots of references to this story and the people who are freaking out are the "baseball people", largely associated with the Mets, who reprimanded him. Every media report I've heard or read has basically says it's no big deal. I'm just saying that I've read a lot of articles and seen many pieces on this non-story.

    Lovie's a tough nut. I dig it. Well, maybe Joe can supplant Hillenmeyer, but no way is Lovie that stupid to sit one of the top 3 OLBs in the game because he missed a few days of mini-camp. Most of the beat reporters are saying that the Briggs thing is temporary. However, a lot of the reporters are speculating that the Benson/Jones move could be permanent.

    Lets see, $200 / 25 players = $8 per year per player. Not even Neifi would go for that. :lol: What I'm trying to say, and obviously failing, is that winning is winning. There is no inherent honor for winning and spending less.

    Seriously, I can't believe how widespread that term has gotten. No kidding. I guess according to some you have to say "PUNCH INCOMING IN 4 SECONDS." for it not to be a sucker punch. I guess the first punch thrown in every fight is a sucker punch, according to some.. I'm not sure how much more clear cut it can get. There was a physical altercation, Barrett grabbed AJP and pulled him close, said "I didn't have the ball, !@$@," looked him in the eye and slugged him. How that is a sucker punch, is beyond me. I guess if I was a Cardinals troll, it would make more sense.
