  1. Fans of teams that aren't in the big 10 get tired of hearing about how OSU/Michigan should rematch for the championship. Everyone said Florida had no chance. Pretty much the big 10 has 2 good teams (sometimes 3). They play about 2 hard games a year and the media acts like they are on a different level than other teams. In the SEC you play a tough game nearly every week. So the fans of an SEC team enjoy it when one of the SEC teams hands a big 10 team their butt. That's the best explanation I can give. What's with the persecution complex? Plenty of people pimp the SEC. I hear all the time that the SEC has "speed" that the other conferences don't have. Not everyone wanted Michigan to get a rematch. They didn't get one after all. I wasn't trying to start an argument. I was just explaining why people root for a conference. I personally didn't care who won the game. I'm with you, buddy.

  3. Some really good options here. I'm going to have to think about this one for a while.
  4. Don't forget Bill Plachke. That guy's a hack.
  5. What? I understand that people want their conference to look better so that their team looks better but I just don't understand why some people are so rabid about it.
  6. Why do people root for their conference? Someone explain this to me.
  7. with that logic, brady quinn should definitely be a day 2 draft pick too. it's not like troy smith always sucks in big games. in fact, this is the first time he's laid a giant turd during a big game, he usually plays amazing. no one could have done well with the kind of protection he got today. I think losing Ginn, really, really hurt.
  8. I vote for Mariotti because I can predict what his columns are going to say with about 70% accuracy before I even open the Suntimes. His shtick is tired, old, and predictable.
  9. Do those bowl standings really mean much? They are so matchup dependant and most of those games are completely meaningless. Does anyone think that the Big East is the #1 football conference because USF beat East Carolina in the Papajohns.com bowl? Good performance by some of the conferences in that list, but let's not try to make too much of it.
  10. Wisky vs. OSU tonight. 8-)
  11. If the Seahawks are going to get pressure on Rex, they are going to have to do it with their line. I seriously doubt they are going to do much blitzing with the scrubs they currently are forced to play with in the secondary.
  12. OSU played 2 teams that were #2 at the time they played them. Pretty tough to fault them for scheduling.
  13. Score is reporting he is out. ESPN is reporting that Darrell Jackson is very likely out. Also DJ Hackett will probably be questionable. Wow.
  14. John Clayton's breakdown: Seatle will win if: 1. Hasselback gets hot. 2. Alexander gets hot. 3. Defense plays well. Chicago will win if: 1. Rex doesn't self destruct. 2. D-line plays well. 3. A WR or TE get's hot. Hard hitting commentary.
  15. Crappy weather on Sunday might make it very difficult for either passing game to get the job done. Didn't think about the weather. http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/60611?dayNum=6 I'm actually not really excited about it. I'd rather them be playing in conditions where the footing was better. I kind of feel that bad weather closes the gaps between good and not as good teams. I hope I'm wrong. The Bears running game looks much better than Seatle's at this point. That could be a potential positive. I don't know if anyone really cares about DVOA, but Footballoutsiders think that Seatle is more a product of luck and their schedule than anything else. According to DVOA, they rank 27th on offense, 20th on defense, and 25th overall.
  16. If Grossman can't play well against Seatle's decimated secondary at home, then we've got a real problem.
  17. Sorry, I had to post this. Too funny. http://www.nedobeck.com/gross_man.jpg
  18. Oh come ON. I'm going to probably miss the end of the stupid game. Hopefully, the Bears will be running away with it so you won't miss anything important. Got to look on the bright side here.
  19. I feel pretty bad for Romo. That was tough. Both teams look pretty bad though. I hope the Bears play the Seahawks. Though playing against Eli could be pretty fun too. Things look good for the Bears actually winning a playoff game. I can't wait to read this after the Bears lose to the Giants by like 6 touchdowns. I think if that happened I would pee blood for a week.
  20. Brees has proven he can find passing lanes. Rex gets his passes tipped on a relatively frequent basis. Sorry, I don't agree here. I beleive this to be perception and not reality.
  21. I have absolutely no idea who this guy is.
  22. Turner's alright, but I'd rather have Rex drawing up plays in the huddle on his palm.
  23. Boy, I sure hope this turns out like your BCS bowl predictions. I went with the Chargers, but could see a team like the Patriots end up coming out of the AFC. It's going to be a blood bath out there.
