  1. I care. I love hearing Nebraska lost.
  2. ND is looking pretty good thus far. Also a good game by Northwestern.
  3. It's the bad part of the Big Ten TV deals. Obviously having a game on ESPN or ESPN2 makes it worth it, but it's just another killer for ticket sales. Of course, you could count the # of students who take the first available shuttle at 9 AM to line up at the gate for first row seats with your hands and feet (or hand on some days). On some days you could count the number of students that turn out for the BSU games (and stay the whole time) on your hand anyway. I remember last year, we came back from down 21-3 against Northern Illinois to force overtime before losing 38-31, but by the end there were probably 15-20 students in the crowd. I tailgated at every home game for all four years I was there. I have been in the stadium once, and it was only for a quarter. The only time I actually watched BSU play was in Bloomington when I went because my friend was starting at RB for that game due to an injury.
  4. I don't see any way that is possible. Being serious, and not trying to stir things up here. Yes, Wrigley is older, and it's one of the crown jewels of baseball. I love watching games there. That said, Busch has been the host of 6 World Series and more playoff games than I can count without looking it up. It has been the destination for millions of fans from a multi state region. It was a centerpiece in the mid sixties downtown revitalization of St. Louis. I don't want to start another who is better than who debate, but you can't say thay Busch doesn't have an amazing 40 year history. Busch does have an amazing history, but IMO it does not have quite the history of Wrigley.

  6. I didn't quite understand that. Are you saying Young is not as good a QB as the others because is more of a runner? I did like your ranking a lot, it just seems to me that there is more to being a QB than just passing. That of course will not translate into what you did, which is fine, but I do think it should translate into the Heisman. No, I was saying that Young isn't nearly as good a passer as most of the others, and his running ability(a definite plus) doesn't bridge the gap enough to make him as good overall. I agree that there's more than passing. I was just trying to get something that quantified passing(which is most important of the factors IMO) when having a debate about the different top QBs. Ok, I get it now. Sorry I had such a hard time understanding that. I was preparing myself for another is Michael Vick a good QB debate.
  7. Is that in reference to your finding, or the Heisman voting? My "ranking" which was supposed to give a little perspective on who should be the best, which translates to the Heisman. Obviously I'm not going to go nuts claiming Brohm should be the runaway winner, but he deserves more recognition than he's getting, and as a passer Young deserves less. What I meant by the bolded is that Young is so far down the list in passing aspects that his running game probably isn't enough in my mind to overcome that deficit. I didn't quite understand that. 9. Very impressive work Cpatt.
  10. Wow. Young is average at passing, but killing the other guys on the ground. I didn't know he had that good of stats. I must say I am impressed by his TOTAL stats. I was wrong on that one  Does Olsen get sacked a lot? 4 more sacks than Leinart or Quinn. Just wondered because he has -30 yards rushing.

  12. Purdue is last BYU is 101 MSU is 104 ND has played some teams with bad D. ND is also 114 in the ranking. I still can't figure out why teams just don't pass every play against the Irish. They really have avery weak secondary. Tennesse is 12th in total D, which I think will be a problem this weekend for ND. http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?div=4&rpt=IA_teampassdef&site=org
  13. Does anyone know Youngs numbers off-hand? He is first in the voting right now, and I have a feeling his numbers are not as good as any of the three QB's mentioned. I could be wrong though
  14. Look at USC's record compared to ND's. The Heisman is no longer about the best player, it is about the best player on the best team.
  15. Just wanted to post this for anyone who is interested, which I know most of you probably aren't. So far the Notre Dame offense has set 17 offensive records. They are: Single Game touchdown passes - 6 (Quinn vs. BYU) Single-Game touchdown receptions - 4 (Stovall vs. BYU) Single-Game receptions - 14 (Stovall vs. BYU) Single-Game, 2 Players with 10 or more receptions - Stovall (14) & Samardzija (10) v. BYU Pass Completions in a game- 33 (tied; Quinn vs. MSU) Consecutive Games with a TD Pass - 12 (Quinn) Consecutive Game with a TD Reception - 7 (Samardzija) Consecutive Game with a TD Pass to start a season - 7 (Samardzija) Consecutive 100-yd. rushing game to begin season - 4 (Walker) Consecutive games throwing over 300 yards - 4 (Quinn) Single-season touchdown passes - 20 (Quinn) Single-season TD receptions - 11 (tied; Samaradzija) Single-season 300+ yd. passing games - 4 (Quinn) Single-season 400+ passing games - 3 (Quinn) Career 400+ yd. passing games - 4 (Quinn) Career games passing for 250+ yds. - 11 (Quinn)
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2211201 Also wanted to add I think this story is ridiculous. 99.9% of the people I know play poker, and it says absolutely nothing about their character. Let the man do what he wants to do. It hurts nothing but his wallet.
  17. I already did. Does anyone know if it opened up at 10.5 Also I am not so sure about ND. Tenn has given up only 3 passing TD's all year, and they are a couple of turnovers away from being a top 10 team IMO. I think the game will be close, and ND may not be able to pull this one out. I definately love Tennessee at +8 1/2, but I can never bet against ND. my paper listed it at 10 this morning It opened at 9. Now it is 11.5. Everyone must have hopped on PSU so it has moved to get suckers like me to jump on Wisconsin.

  19. Here is a link for a humorous video of some drunk Cardinal fans who are crying and talking about Busch after the last game. http://www.kmov.com/perl/common/video/wmPlayer.pl?title=www.kmov.com/051020_sadfans.wmv It is funny to me because I am not a Cards fan. Were this Wrigley I may feel the same way.
  20. I am very worried about the ND/Tenn game. Tenn is not as bad as their record show IMO and have a very solid D. I said before the season started that this will be a game ND will lose. I still think they may. I will be there so I sure hope not, but I could easily see it happening.
  21. Wow. Didn't see myself ever saying this regarding CFB but...I agree with you :D
  22. I can't wait for this game. I expect a classic. Of course lately those have become commonplace for Miami-VT. Right. That and PSU vs. WISC are pretty much conference title games. ACC has a title game though this year, right? Yes. It will probably be the winner of this game vs. FSU
  23. Not a fan, but yes. Offensive coordinator quit/resigned/stepped down but will stay on staff through end of season. Fullmer to call plays Sort of true. Fulmer and the entire offensive staff will share playcalling duties. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Tennessee's offense is just not good enough to keep up with ND's. GO IRISH! Vol fans better hope the rumor that David Cutcliffe is returning is true. That offense is in disarray and I don't think that Phil is the man to fix it. He needs help in a big way. I also heard a rumor that Cutcliffe has been talking to Fulmer regarding ND. Of course this had better just be a rumor or else...
  24. UT fans, any truth to the rumor that Fulmer is taking over the playcalling role for the rest of the season?
  25. OK so maybe some officials are biased towards ND... http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/sun/2005/oct/29/519582425.html?official%20hears%20the%20echoes
