  1. Running the Craig Krenzel offense.
  2. These running plays are going nowhere.
  3. Defense is really stepping up
  4. Am I the only one who is irrationally bothered by the way the middle of the "8" on Caleb Williams' jersey always goes under the fold in the pads and makes him look like number 10?
  5. Obviously not, but blocked is blocked. It's going to be hard for anyone to get consistent playing time when there is an established starter in front of them, which the Cubs have at essentially every position except Catcher. I'm not saying you deal everyone who is currently blocked, but the Cubs have to identify which ones they want to keep and which ones to move on from, and they need to do that soon.
  6. "If you're gonna miss something, miss a ball and call it a strike. Don't go the other way." - Rick Sutcliffe Uhhh... How is that any better?
  7. You have to think the Cubs wouldn't mind a comparable return for one of their similarly blocked AAA players.
  8. PCA is definitely going to rub some teams the wrong way, but oh well. He is a fun player to watch.
  9. Michael Busch can't be looking forward to heading back to Wrigley tomorrow.
  10. While becoming a plus defensive first baseman.
  11. 7 K's for Hendricks. Lock this guy up for next year.
  12. Running Kyle back out for the 6th would seem unwise.
  13. I'm legitimately curious what the situation is with Grace. He shows up in the Marquee pre/post show once in a blue moon, but other than that he is never seen. He also wasn't at the Cubs HOF ceremony last Sunday, although many other former players including his fellow inductee from last year (Dunston) were there. He seems to be a bit of a black sheep in the Cubs organization, possibly for very good reasons.
  14. I get doing Big 10 cap promotions at Wrigley, along with other local schools, but Miami-Ohio?
  15. 8 LOB through 3 innings, and now it looks like Kyle is ready to do his Kyle thing.
  16. Ian Happ is going to have nightmares about Coors Field CF.
  17. In other words, "We aren't willing to pay you quite enough to broadcast every game, but how about we pay you less and you just do some games? Then we can throw a few pennies at Sutcliffe, Dempster, Girardi, etc to fill in the gaps."
  18. One might say that Quantrill is "laboring" out there.
  19. I'm curious whether they think fans want this, or is it necessary to meet contractual demands? Or is it a cost-saving measure? I would rather have a lesser-tier broadcasting crew that is able to stay together every game than a better crew that frequently takes days off.
  20. Is it bad form to DFA your active Roberto Clemente Award nominee?
  21. You can stop there. He shouldn't even be on an MLB roster and at this point he is just taking opportunities from young guys who could actually matter in the future.
  22. And that, combined with the Braves and Mets winning, eliminates ANY last shred of hope. The Cubs could hypothetically win out now and it probably still wouldn't be enough.
