  1. That's an odd way of thinking about one of, if not THE, best hitters in the lineup. There's nothing wrong with having Seiya as the most of the time DH, filling in occasionally in RF.
  2. Oh, so we did the Wisdom for Busch thing again and now Wisdom is facing a righty in a key situation?
  3. This is actually pretty awesome. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/09/16/chicago-sports-network-directv/ It has also been confirmed elsehwere that both subchannels (62.2 and 62.3) will be broadcast in HD. Your move Marquee!
  4. I could not agree more. They are setup perfectly for that type of approach, with no glaring holes anywhere on the roster except the bullpen. They have plenty of near-MLB cost-controlled talent to cheaply fill extra spots and allow them to spend big on one specific area of need.
  5. I still lean toward wanting Cody to opt out and having the Cubs pursue the unrealistic dream of Soto in RF. But if we assume that Soto isn't going to happen, are the Cubs actually going to get better by spending the Bellinger money elsewhere? Despite the lack of slugging, Bellinger is still a productive player when healthy. Who else out there would be a significant upgrade over him?
  6. IT IS BOTH! IT IS BOTH! IT'S BOOOOOOOOOOOTH!
  7. I doubt there is any way to get official numbers, but my anecdotal experience is that perhaps the season ticket holder churn isn't quite as high as we would expect it to be. I have had my Season Tickets for 10 or 11 years now and every year there is a "relocation event" where we can log in and change or upgrade our seats to any other available seats. I don't really have any intention of changing my seat location, but every time I check the options there are very few seats available anywhere. The Cubs are "supposed to" complete seat relocation for existing ticket holders before they offer seats to new people, but I question whether that is actually happening. Honestly though, I question a lot of things the Cubs do (or don't do) for their Season Ticket Holders. But just going by how many seats I see available for relocation, it doesn't appear there are many new seats available from year to year. I do think they have been allowing people to downgrade from full season to partial season packages in some instances, so maybe that is a big part of what has been happening rather than people dropping the tickets altogether.
  8. I assume this hypothetical family of four is parking in Evanston, sitting in the top row of the upper deck, and sharing a couple bottles of water with their hot dogs.
  9. The whole Bernstein/Barstool thing is stupid on both sides. I get a little bit of where Bernstein is coming from. It is somewhat odd to refer to someone by their last name in that context. Would the guy have referred to Laurence Holmes as Holmes or Dan Patrick as Patrick? At the same time, his last name is the title of the show and I didn't hear any malicious intent in the way it was used. Clearly there is more to this than just the last name thing, but Bernstein's reaction was way over the top. Instead of politely correcting the guy (if he really thought it needed it), he had to sit there and fume/pout on camera. Now you have Barstool (who I know absolutely nothing about) making a huge deal out of this because they didn't like the way a host reacted to their guy. This includes calling Bernstein a "woke lunatic" and suggesting their followers continue to harass him. Somehow I feel like if they were on the other side of this, they would be calling out the evils of cancel culture. Maybe this is all some WWE Attitude era style angle where Bernstein vs. Barstool draws huge ratings for both of them. Ok, we all know that isn't the case. It's just dumb.
  10. Eberflus has no issue with the challenges and says they have a "great system in place."
  11. Eh, I think he is doing exactly what he is instructed to do by tightly managing the conversation and putting a positive spin on everything. It doesn't make for an incredibly insightful postgame show, but I think that is by design.
  12. This official postgame show on Marquee is annoying. Cole Wright is good at what he does, but part of that is being an obvious shill for the teams he covers.
  13. At least the center is solid... Oh wait.
  14. Man, Williams is wildly inaccurate.
  15. Gotta throw that away versus sliding for 2 yards.
  16. The Bears are missing Keenan Allen? Can he block?
  17. Pretty incredible performance by the defense, but equally as bad of a game by the offense.
  18. Do we have any offensive plays that aren't 2 yard passes or just floating jump balls to receivers?
  19. NFL needs to move the goalposts back.
  20. D.J. kinda whiffed on that one.
