    I went ahead and took Billingsley, because I wanted to get a starting pitcher, after I just traded Javier Vazquez for Ken Griffey Jr.(now praying that Griffey doesn't die or something) Ian Stewart just went 5th in the draft, btw. I've already got Andy Marte at 3B, btw. We'll see who is available when my next pick comes around...

    I'm in an 18 team keeper league that is having a minor league draft this spring. We can draft 3 guys, and I have the 4th overall pick. They have to be guys without major league experience, so Marte, Hanley Ramirez, Hermida, etc are all off the board. So far Delmon Young, Brandon Wood, and Howie Kendrick have been taken, and I have the next pick. Any advice at all on who I should take? My team is pretty well stocked at 1B, OF, and P, but I want to get the best guy overall, since I have the #4 pick. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Looks like Wade knew something we didn't, I guess. Rollins is 2-2 tonight with a homer and a double, to extend his hitting streak to 31 games. Since beginning his streak on 8/23, his average has gone from .261 to .287! In the past 10 games, he has had more than 1 hit in 8 of them! If you look up hot in the dictionary, I believe his picture is next to the definition. :shock:

    Heh, this trade has gotten even better now that Peralta has really started hitting...and Booney has been released.

    I grabbed Clint Barmes off the waiver wire right before opening day, as I made the foolish mistake of keeping Alex Cintron instead of Angel Berroa at short. At least I got 2 months out of Barmes, lol.

    Um, for those who think Pie should be traded because he hasn't proven himself as a star major leaguer yet, why don't we give him a chance to prove it first? Trading Pie for DeJesus just because DeJesus has already had success at the major league level makes no sense at all. :roll:

    Yea, but just because all the cool teams are doing it. Mariano Rivera is the only guy left that can wear #42, right? Personally, I think retiring 42 for all 30 teams was ridiculous. The only team that should have it retired is the Dodgers. Let players wear it on the other 29 teams to honor Robinson.

    I've got a chance to trade Ramon Hernandez for Morgan Ensberg. This is in a keeper league, where anyone who declares free agency after the season is available in next years draft. So, what I'm wondering is, is this a good deal? From what I have seen, all indications are that Hernandez will go FA, so I stand to lose him at the end of the year anyway. Does anyone know if there is a likelihood Ramon will sign an extension before the year is over? This is an 18 team league, so good catchers are hard to come by. I've got Hernandez and Schneider at Catcher, and Andy Marte and Willie Bloomquist at 3B. He would also take Javy Vazquez, and my other starters are Sheets, Pedro, Orlando Hernandez, and Ricardo Rodriguez. I'm less inclined to deal Javy though. Any input greatly appreciated!

    I grabbed Yhency Brazoban in the 8th round, with my final draft pick. Also, Jeff Kent somehow fell to the 2nd round in an 18 team league, with guys like AJ Pierzynski and Aaron Rowand going before him.

    I traded Bret Boone and a 10th round draft pick for Jhonny Peralta and a 6th rounder. Not amazing, but at least I got something for Boone before he went even farther downhill.

    Declining skills, Gus? He's 9-2 with a 2.46 ERA. Granted he has lost his last 2 starts, but he still doesn't seem to be declining all that much. ;)

    Ford has been used mostly as a DH this year. He hasn't been bad, but not as good as last year. I'm really kicking myself now for keeping him over Cliff Floyd on one of my fantasy teams. :roll:

    MLB.com link An average of $8 mil a year seems kind of high for a guy who has a career avg of .269 and career obp of .323. Thoughts?
