    Heyman is partially correct. Adding Votto with either pitcher would "be too high of price to pay, that part is correct, but starting off a package with bailey or cuerto, is an insanely high price to pay for a AL Version of Jaso Marquis. Blanton is better than Marquis. But yeah, that would still be paying too much. Until Dusty runs Blanton into the ground..

    I bring this up every year, but no one wants him. Put him in Left, move Soriano to Right, put Fukudome in Center. Powers up the offense for the year. Or simply not worth the hassle with the court case coming up?

    The Cubs have been asking the Rangers about Marlon Byrd, MLB.com reports. If Texas could pick up Sean Marshall or Sean Gallagher for Byrd, we imagine GM Jon Daniels would make the move in a heartbeat. The Cubs, though, may be offering someone like Jason Marquis or Ryan Dempster. The Rangers have Byrd penciled in as their right fielder, but since they're not going to win anything this year, they shouldn't hesitate to move him and go with some combination of David Murphy, Nelson Cruz and Jason Botts initially.

    If Rivera is willing to sign a one year deal, I would do it. He still posted a low 3 era in the AL closing. And Rivera had issued only 12 walks all year closing. And No, I don't want Kerry Wood closing until he can go a FULL-SEASON without getting hurt.
