  1. Should be loaded with no outs. Ugh.
  2. I also live in Iowa (North Central part where we get FSN-North so we have the Twins), and have satellite tv for CSN/WGN. No MLB EI or anything like that though since the Cubs are in the viewing area.
  3. Is A-Rod becoming the next Barry Bonds?
  4. 1-0 Rockies in the first. No outs.
  5. Mulder got through 3 batters in the first, and he's done. 2 on, 1 out.
  6. Cubs Lineup: Theriot SS Fukudome RF Lee 1b Ramirez 3b Soto C Edmonds CF DeRosa RF Fontenot 2b Dempster P
  7. Friday/Saturday I'm going to the game on Saturday and Sunday, I'll load my pants if he's pitching on either day.
  8. Did they say anything else in detail? The probably just piggy backed the article that was in the Sun-Times. Yeah, you were right here.
  9. Did they say anything else in detail? Nothing else. Just said that.
  10. Stat-wise, it's interesting. If the Brewers are just going to throw up Sabatha, and think that's enough, they're kidding themselves. They need some help Bullpen Wise. From the 7th inning on.. (preferably mostly bullpen).. ERA: Cubs 3.61 (10th) Brewers 4.64 (28th) Hits Cubs 246 (19th) Brewers 253 (20th) BB Cubs 84 (3rd) Brewers 123 (26th) Ks Cubs 245 (1st) Brewers 215 (15th) WHIP: Cubs 1.25 (4th) Brewers 1.48 (26th)
  11. O RLY? on the cubs' side: soto is way better than kendall derosa at this point is a little better than weeks ramirez is easily better than hall on the brewers' side: hardy is better than theriot fielder is marginally better than lee cameron is better than edmonds/johnson braun is way better than whoever's playing left in soriano's absence hart is probably slightly better than fukudome, but it's close the same mets that trail the brewers by either 5 or 6 games, pending the outcome of their game today? BP has the NL east at roughly a 10% chance of winning the wild card, so your confidence in this respect is unwarranted. I don't necessarily disagree with anything, but Mike Cameron over Edmonds/Johnson. I'm not so sure right now. Cameron (52 games) .232/.311/.500, 14 hrs with 33 rbis Edmonds (w/Cubs): (38 games) .276/.375/.552 8 hrs 24 rbis Johnson: .266/.336/.383 3 homers, 31 rbis
  12. I hate that CC is coming into the division but I'm not that bent out of shape about it. I'm glad it's a guy who pitches once every 5 games as opposed to a guy who hits every day. This makes Milwaukee very tough but they still have a lot of question marks with Sheets' health (as always) and their pen. If Hendry can land Burnett or Harden and stay away from Wolf and Maddux (I don't have great confidence that he will), then I'll be even less concerned. I'm not sure Sheets is going to make it through the season. He's #1 on the PAP. Sabatha is 5th. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=309697 You didn't need to mention he was #1 in PAP, you could have just said something like this, "I don't think Ben Sheets will make it through the season because he's Ben Sheets." I figured I would use that as an indicator. God knows Ned Yost will probably make Sabatha #2 behind Sheets in the PAPs.

  14. I don't see the A's giving up on the season enough to trade Harden. I'm not impressed enough with Harang and think the Reds would want too much for him. Bedard is being skipped in his next start, and the Mariners asking price is too high there. Burnett is probably the best bet. I think Burnett, Wolf or Maddux is it.
  15. I fear that there is no one out there other than Burnett, and I'm not that sold on him yet. Everyone else is in the race or no one is going to give up on their young starting pitching. Harden and the A's are in the race. No way Giants give up on Lincecum. No way San Diego gives up Peavy. I believe the Rockies said that they won't give up Aaron Cook. We might end up getting stuck with Randy Wolf and/or Greg Maddux. Or maybe someone like Bedard.
  16. Who does he replace though? He's not better than Quentin, Drew, Bradley, or Sizemore. Jason Varitek.
  17. Didn't we tag him last year when we faced him? I thought we did.
  18. Update says it's done. CC to the Brewers, and he'll pitch Tuesday against the Rockies. http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/07/06/brewers-indians-agree-on-sabathia.aspx
  19. I actually like the hats, but man, 35 dollars for a cap. Are you serious?
  20. That's all I got out of it.
  21. Yeah and the Brewers and Cubs play each other at the end of the month. And the Cubs would light up Sabathia and I would go to my room and cry ](*,) Don't mean to throw this way off-topic or hijack.. Any chance Brad Nelson comes up this year before Sept. Callups? I would guess only if someone like Hart went down..
  22. If Laporta/Gamel isn't apart of it, he's not going to Milwaukee. Not True. Milwaukee could put together a package without either of them. Would it be enough to stop the teams like D-Rays/Cubs/Red Sox from getting CC? I'm not so sure.
  23. If Laporta/Gamel isn't apart of it, he's not going to Milwaukee.
