    is anybody, really? i guess oneri fleita. I like the direction the system is heading in... seems to be a lot more high-risk, high-ceiling types. This really isn't true. We did that with a couple guys this season (Carpenter and Wilson), but the last three drafts have been very safe relatively speaking. We haven't been going for high risk high reward guys. Even the Vitters pick as a HS pick isn't considered that. Schafer probably belongs in that group as well, as do guys like Lake, Huseby... hell, even Ryan Harvey fits the bill. Samardzija was the quintessential boom or bust. I like having guys like that in the system, even if sometimes they don't pan out. Lake? Junior Lake? I was under the impression he was a toolbox with plate discipline issues.

    Correct. To add to this, we can actually change the roster during the middle of a playoff series. The catch is that it is designed for DL moves, so any player we replace during the middle of the series is ineligible for the rest of the postseason. It's not a rule that is likely to receive any significant use, but it can come into play occasionally. I want to say the Mets had to invoke that rule with El Duque two years ago.

I don't mind boom-or-bust players... it's much cheaper to acquire role-players in free agency to fill in around our homegrown superstars than it is to acquire superstar caliber players to fill in around our homegrown role-players.

    I'm more surprised that we haven't managed to come up with a nickname for him... Geovany Soto is just too great of a name to top, though.

    He's actually hitting .277 for the season vs. them and has 4 of his 6 HRs against righties .277/.319/.401 vs. righties .328/.396/.455 vs. lefties

    Low 90's FB, Mid 70's CB Doesn't look to have much more body to build off of... Kinda looks like Gallagher to me... though I haven't seen his other secondary stuff.
