  1. Anyone know the seriousness of the "tightness"? Hamstring
  2. Against the best offense in the league, and at Wrigley where we had won 14 in a row, I'd say it was a pretty good start.
  3. Has it officially been announced? Sully wrote about it a few days ago, and the Cubs shot that report down. Now he reported that Johnson is "likely to the DL" last night, but who knows how much truth that holds since we're talking about a crap beat writer who I'm sure the Cubs enjoying messing with. Remember, he also reported the Coco Crisp rumor last week which was complete bunk. Take everything you read from Sullivan with a grain of salt.
  4. Headcase. It's been pretty obvious for awhile.
  5. Go with Woodford Reserve or Bulleit. Real bourbon is much better stuff. I'll be cracking a bottle of Bulleit myself if we lose tomorrow. yeah...i want to win as much as the next fan...but in my mind...the only thing that really matters right now is the health of carlos zambrano Totally. That's all I'm worried about right now and it's driving me crazy. We better find out tomorrow... I don't know how much more of this waiting I can take. Sullivan made it sound like we might not hear the official results until Saturday, but I'd imagine something will leak tomorrow.
  6. Speaking of Murton, I'm shocked that nobody mentioned he's being called up with all the love he gets around here.
  7. Phillips was just on SC live from the game, so yeah he's doing it. Morgan? Phillips? Pick your poison.
  8. The Diamondbacks are, right now at least. And the upcoming pitching matchups. It's gonna be a blast: Hill Vs. Wainwright Lilly Vs. Lohse Marquis Vs. Wellemeyer Dempster Vs.Harang Zambrano Vs. Cueto Hill Vs. Volquez Keep in mind that Lohse is off to a great start, and Wellemeyer isn't pitching so bad himself. I'd be thrilled to come away with 3 of those games.
  9. It wasn't a clear win. A 6 run game, with Jason Marquis on the mound, no Carlos Marmol, and in a park where the ball been flying out lately... it wasn't in the books just yet. He left with an undisclosed injuyr by the way, so Len and Bob weren't so out of the line now were they?
  10. The game's far from over at 7-1 in the 6th. Something's gotta be bothering him.
  11. He wouldn't hit 12 homers on the Cubs.
  12. Hitting between Lee and Ramirez, or Ramirez and Burnitz and I think you will see his Avg. Homeruns, and RBI's increase I definitely agree with that. Having Burnitz or Nomar hit 7th (assuming Nomar is back in the next couple weeks) is a scary thought. It just seems like so many people think that this guy is the complete jackpot. He is a great player with the potential to get better in so many ways. However, I don't see that long swing shortening up anytime soon. I'm just saying that there are some serious negatives with this guy too, but you'll find that in just about every player anyway.
  13. Well, I would love to acquire Dunn, and I know how many sabermetric people on here are going nuts over this, but I think he could be had for less than Patterson, Hill, and mitre. Mitre will go in pretty much any deal, but I think the Cubs could do just him and Patterson to make this trade. Pie and Hill are really the only prospects that I would get pissed about the Cubs trading. Hill really can be a Barry Zito type of pitcher in my opinion, and do you want to trade him into the division? The Reds haven't had any pitching the last 2 seasons, and the Cubs would be giving them 2 pitchers that would probably go right into the Reds rotation. Patterson might hit as many homers as Dunn in that park, who knows. I just wonder if this is the right guy for the Cubs to get. He's 25, and has a tremendous ops, and the potential for 50 homers a season. There's no doubt about that. However, Hendry lately has shown the desire to get players that can play small ball. He called up Greenberg and Murton, both tremendous fundamental hitters, great obp, etc. Dunn has what, 1 career sac fly? In the big situations, he is a guaranteed strikeout against premier pitchers. Don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic to acquire this guy, but maybe we are getting a little too excited about him. Just sayin.
  14. WGW, you are seriously still talking about Wilkerson nonstop? Welcome to last year.
