    Is this going to be another 'someone is late even though they aren't really late!!1' discussion? I read somewhere that Murton was getting married this past off-season, so he's probably not just moving himself with the reassignment. The Iowa Cubs are on a roadtrip. Players can't always move themselves and their families in a couple of hours, then teleport to wherever their new team is playing. That's probably why clubs give players a few days to make arrangements and join their new teams.

    I haven't been voting much in the contests. This was tough because both posters are worth reading every time they post. The name change probably does hurt name recognition with EJ. I did end up voting for the pimp. I don't think his '04 game threads have survived ... but he was one of the first posters to get a title, and that title was well-deservied. He rocked the game threads at a time when no one else could. He also came through in the clutch [Not that there is any such thing; it was random variation and his name came up] with some obscure version of the 7th inning stretch with Jody Davis -- he'd remember tje details more than I do -- that he fed-exed to Peoria so they coul.d use it for Jody Davis' managerial debut. That's worth a vote. Love both these guys, but I've gotta vote for the boss. eta: unless he posts the mooseknuckle pics, in which case I rescind my vote.

    This guy is booted and I think the last one was too. Interesting - they boot him but it wasn't fan interference? You bet your ass if it had benefitted the Cubs it would have been. Thanks major league baseball. The ushers aren't acting at the behest of the umpires. Last I saw, the first fan was still hanging out.

    My brother has an extra bleacher ticket for Wednesday night's game for $20 (face price $42). If you're interested, PM me. Unless you live in NW Indiana, you'll probably have to meet him before the game that night to get the ticket. I'm going to the game but might get there late. You'd be welcome to sit with us unless you are unbearably obnoxious. :!: It's Ernie Banks player # 14 cap night!

    Indeed. I'd rather they win the game. If we are ahead by quite a bit throw at him. The Braves managed to do both last night. It's not mutually exclusive.

    I thought Sean did very well given the circumstances (and getting beaned to boot). He stuck to his game plan, threw strikes and worked quickly. I'm happy for him and happy for his family & friends who were able to see him make his debut.

    He played tonight vs the White Sox while his appeal is pending. He was ejected again in the 4th inning.

    FYI, a Bruce update from tonight's game thread: "Severe" case of patella tendinitis. He'll likely arrive here tomorrow and be available to pinch hit this weekend. They'd rather have him sit until Monday and then re-evaluate.
