    Indeed. And it's likely Prior does know who it is.

    It hasn't happened to me often. The other audio feeds I've tried have worked, so it seems to be a problem with just this one. I did submit a customer service ticket through mlb.com.

    Presumably, that source would okay the unmasking to Prior. If not, then that could really hurt his ability to get more sources. Presumptions both ways. I'd think twice about leaking the inside scoop to someone who volunteers that info in the Tribune without spelling out the anonymous source's wishes in the matter. ETA: Of course, Carroll didn't write the column, he was just interviewed for it, so it's not like he had complete control over what was written.

    I think this was posted in another thread, but here's another Greenstein column with Will Carroll that ran in today's Trib. I don't question his credibility as an analyst and I respect his work at BP. Where it gets fuzzy for me is when he's wearing a journalist hat vs. an analyst hat. Saying he'd tell Prior who the source is (even if he suspects that Prior knows) seems poor form to me ... if he's wearing a journalist hat. Presumably the whole point of being an anonymous source is to try to maintain your anonymity. I don't think there's any easy answer for what is internet journalism anymore.

    Thanks for explaining how the MRI figures in -- that was the most confusing of the initial reports. On the national (not local) ESPN radio update, they just mentioned Prior and led it off with "if the Cubs know the results of Prior's MRI, they aren't talking."

    Dan Patrick is broadcasting from the Angels' spring training park today. Big Z is back in the ST rotation and is now scheduled to pitch on Sunday.

    That sounds good. I'm a little surprised that Yocum can definitely tell that without an MRI, but he's obviously the expert and I'm not. I'll get cranky if this diagnosis changes for the worse.

    Not sure if this was discussed elsewhere. The Fanfest was Monday, so it would have been before the recent news on Prior going to see Yocum.
