  1. Neifi = "catching popups with ATTITUDE"
  2. arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbhghghgh
  3. Too bad the Cubs can't play them 6x a season.
  4. Baker let Prior throw nearly 130 pitches in his 3rd game of the season last year, IIRC. I thought it was pretty stupid considering he started the season on the DL. I think Baker would have sent Z back to the hill. Piror's 3rd start last year was 106 pitches. You're right, of course. I was thinking he came back around May 12, but it was April 12. Prior threw 126 pitches against the White Sox in a Sunday game near the end of May. That CG vs the White Sox was on May 22. He was hit by the line drive in his next start on May 27. His return was also against the White Sox (& Garland) during the June 24-25-26 series ... I think the Sunday game, but could be wrong.
  5. PH Murton, move Bynum to CF. Yeah, too late.
  6. Of all the Cubs tonight, who would have thought Jones would get the first hit? he's as good a candidate as any in tonight's lineup edit: with that flyball (and my 6000th post) I bid you all good night. Congrats on 6K, Derwood!
  7. ITI has a free article that includes a snapshot of farm system players. The beginning of the article focuses on Gallagher and Matt Weber.
  8. Nice line by Chris Shaver.
  9. Just reporting what was said since a lot of people can't watch WCIU.
  10. I thought CLTV = WCIU nowadays No, but CSN+ = CLTV on my tv package. If that makes sense.
  11. Please check today's game thread for game thread discussions & lineup.
  12. They showed a video clip of him throwing during the WCIU broadcast and Len & Bob noted that he's expecting/hoping to be back by June 1.
  13. Sam Fuld scores the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 14th. Daytona wins GAME ONE 3-2!
  14. 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th, so the game goes to "extras" -- inning 8. Gallagher: 6 innings (faced 2 batters in the 7th), 6 hits (6 singles), 2R/1ER, 8Ks/0BB, 8-2 GO-FO. ERA to 1.78. ... I need to leave soon, so Daytona better score in the bottom half of this inning. Danny Gonzalez PHs for Simokaitis & leads off with a double! Nate Spears sac-bunts him to 3B. Fuld is being IBB'd. Egads, suicide squeeze fails on a very low pitch, Gonzalez out. Fuld moves to 2B. Spearman grounds out 4-3. Tie game to the 9th.
  15. Ugh. Lead-off single in the 7th, PB by Fox sends the runner to second, then the ball is hit off Gallagher's leg and rolls to 1B -- very close play at first but the runner is ruled safe. Runners at the corner, no one out. Now Hunton coming in to replace Gallagher. :( The announcers don't seem to think he's injured, maybe just shaken up. ETA: Long sac fly makes it 2-2. Hunton Ks the next batter on a pitch a foot-and-a-half off the plate. Hunton picks off the runner at first! 1-3-4-3-4
  16. Gallagher allows a run in the 5th on a single, wild pitch, and another single to CF that scored the runner at 2nd. The broadcasters thought the relay throw was delayed because the 3rd base coach initially told the runner to hold up ... then sent him. I missed the bottom of the 5th, but it apparently went by quickly. 1-2-3 inning in the 6th and two more Ks making 8 so far. Looks like he'll go for the complete game (7 innings, since it's a doubleheader tonight). Sounds like he's mainly working with his fastball & curve.
  17. Uh, 2nd HR of the night for Jake Fox. "That ball was ANNHILATED!" Fox now leads the FSL in HRs with 7. 2-0 Daytona to the 5th.
  18. Daytona up 1-0 after two innings on a Jake Fox solo HR. Gallagher with 4Ks through 3. ETA: Gallagher with 5Ks through 4. Still 1-0.
  19. Restovich not being a superior option has nothing to do with Jacque Jones stinking it up to date.
  20. Well I don't think that Run was Jocks fault, but I understand the frustration. You are incorrect. He's been poor at most things, so it's infuriating seeing him make outs on the basepaths.
  21. Truth. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ. Do we really have to put up with this all year long? Nice job, Hendry.
  22. Hairston may be in trouble regardless of Neifi.
