    Playing devil's advocate for a moment (which you won't find me doing in support of Dusty very often), but maybe Dusty was going with more solid defense in a known pitchers park? Babe Ruth would have trouble hitting balls out of this park, so going with extra speed with Bynum to manufacture a run? Nah.

    I've given him credit. And I have to admit, the Neifi/Macias 1/2 punch of last year seemed to generate more runs than this team is generating right now. :shock:

    San Diego did make some adjustments in RF to make it easier to hit home runs, but it hasn't really helped much. Most of the home runs that will get hit out of Petco will be in the extreme left and extreme right sections of the outfield. It takes an absolute monster shot to clear the wall in center.

    like what? Said before Lee got injured he was playing pretty good D at second base and praised him for his bat and his nice job at first while Lee's out of the lineup. They didn't directly criticize Cubs management for trying to move him in the offseason but they did discuss it. Matt Vasgersian and Mark Grant are the best broadcast team in baseball. Doesn't sound like Grant is in there tonight, however.

    What I don't understand on that play is why he didn't just tag up and then go - he was like 4 feet from first and could have made it back and still gotten to second. Did he lose track of whether the guy caught the ball?

    Actually, I think I recently saw that Diaz was demoted to AAA.
