  1. I just downloaded the Marquee Network, so I'm ready.
  2. I'd definitely like to see him return.
  3. I watched the second half (for some reason I only have one CHSN channel, so it didn't tune into the Bulls game until after the Hawks game was over) with no sound, but Jimmy sure seemed to get comfortable in his new uniform in the second half.
  4. That power play goal in the 2nd period was a thing of beauty.
  5. Are the refs brave enough to make a call in the Chiefs favor now that the most popular Super Bowl discussion leading up to the game has been the refs playing favorites with the Chiefs?
  6. So how many "very good" players do they think they have right now?
  7. I just don't see why it can't be sign Bregman and call it an offseason. Don't trade anyone. Defer whatever amount necessary to stay within the cap, because the tax penalty is probably 2 or 3 times more costly than the deferred amount. And then you have a premium player like Shaw getting a bit more time in AAA, a beneficial upgrade to the roster by keeping Hoerner. I get having clean books and all, but if you are only deferring what amounts to a middle reliever/back end of the rotation salary, so what?
  8. I saw three names tossed around, with Hoerner, Suzuki and Taillon all mentioned.
  9. We do have that game on TNT. And then the Blackhawks sweep a night of Illinois sports, with Illini losing to Rutgers, Bulls losing to Minny along with the Hawks. What I did see of the Hawks game, Soderblom looked really good.
  10. Also, pretty sure they lose last night's game if LaVine isn't traded.
  11. Looked like Pat Maroon out there to me.
  12. They weren't going to be competitive again before 2027 anyway.
  13. Yep. That's where I'm at. Their record seemed better last year when he was injured.
  14. It's also hard to believe Bregman is balking on a 6/156 offer.
  15. Exactly,. It's a very strange non starter.
  16. Didn't he already have a gig in New Orleans once? Or am I thinking of his brother. And wasn't one of them part of Bounty Gate?
  17. Was reading up on Padres ownership. Yikes x 5.
  18. I read that McCarthy was leaning towards sitting this season out, and rejoining the coaching search 2026.
  19. Not sure how anyone can value the term "pro bowler" in a serious discussion. I'm not sure if you could get someone to actually pay me to watch that game in the comfort of my own home.
  20. I don't know if breaking the bank lures Smith. He can pick his team, and there will be plenty knocking on the door, including already playoff caliber teams rather than hopeful playoff caliber teams.
  21. There's no doubt about that. Not only that, his contract is worse than LaVine's.
  22. A guy who puts a NO trade clause in his contract probably shouldn't be put in this position at all, since the contract pretty much clearly stated he will honor his part of the contract until it's done, and the team who presented him this contract should also honor their end. Now the team comes to him, expects him to uproot his life and follow their orders or feel the wrath from the team and the fanbase if he elects to enforce the NTC. Not sure why he has to be subjected to similar frustration from the team that is trying to trade for him, also. To me, he ought to be able to take as long as he wants.
  23. Assumed it was sarcasm, so I looked it up. Yep. Sarcasm.
  24. That's nuts.
  25. Johnson was always at the top of my list, with McCarthy being my other top choice. I'm super happy about this news. Even more excited that Dennis Allen is his preferred guy at DC. Coaching experience, success as a DC, runs a 4-3 that won't create more holes to fill on D. Now, fix the mother horsefeathers OLine.
