  1. I'm kinda happy Marmol got a light workout today. Just need everyone else to shut Houston down today. One more time through the heart of their order.
  2. Care to elaborate? Lamb hit a foul ball that was an absolute shot, just a little bit ahead of it. Gracias!
  3. Marmol went 2 innings yesterday. I don't believe we will see him today. That was 2 days ago. Oh yeah. I guess I've erased yesterday's game from my memory bank. For good reason.
  4. Marmol went 2 innings yesterday. I don't believe we will see him today.
  5. Cause of Fox's stupid Saturday baseball rules. Every game is blacked out until 7(I think) local time. I thought if they started before a certain time you were ok too? You're kidding me right?? they black out every game on saturdays?? even the ones they're not producing? No. The East coast 7pm games and the west coast 7pm games are all available on MLB EI today.
  6. no the astros will hit a few more homers.I miss premium. Also, not to say who will get how many runs, but the final score will most certainly prove that it will take at least 3 runs to win this game. Then get a real job. Earn some money. That's uncalled for. Watch it.But him saying his misses premium to ignore people he disagrees with isn't? Insulting someone who can't afford premium doesn't even closely resemble someone wanting to ignore posts where people give up on a baseball game in the 2nd inning.
  7. It's kind of hard to field a AAA team for the final few games when everyone on the roster is in Chicago. :D But seriously, more guys are likely to get the call once the minor league season is over. Good thing they (Iowa) aren't in a playoff hunt, because that tends to delay the call ups even more.
  8. The guy who needs to move closer to the plate is Theriot.
  9. I think he also provides a safety valve in the event a starter has a bad outing. Instead of burning out the bullpen for 8 innings, you can use Tracshel. Every game is important from this point forward, but it's also important to be able to provide a bit of rest for the starters and the bullpen when the situation arises.
  10. yeah, he is available...hendry said it during the game yesterday...but as i was making this list i put him in there...however, wouldn't they have to take someone off of the 25 man to put him on there? that means i am missing someone and i don't know who... :?: I think you are missing Jacque.
  11. What is Pagan's deal? Is he on the DL? I saw him in uniform after one of the Brewer games.
  12. I think Tracshel is auto eligible because the deal was made before the deadline and because there was room on the 40 man. Even though he may not wear a uniform for the first time until sometime tomorrow, I believe he is eligible.
  13. Strange argument. I'm shocked that anyone finds this deal to be a bad one. If Marquis and/or Lilly goes down to some sort of fluke injury, who gets inserted into the rotation? Some unproven arm? Some bullpen guy who would need weeks to get stretched out to 5 innings or more? Tracshel is a safety valve, if nothing more. He was also one of the better arms available at the deadline. Is it better to have him on your own roster or on a team that you might be playing in the playoffs? St. Louis sure could have used him. He's probably better than Kip Wells. I like Scott Moore, but there isn't a place for him in Chicago. Giving up Cherry hurts a little more, but no matter who traded for Tracshel, someone was going to have to give something up to get him.
  14. Guys on the DL and guys on the 40 man roster all have the potential of being on the 25 man roster for playoffs, I believe.
  15. I don't think he'd be any worse than Marquis. Dempster has never been a lock down starter, but he was an innings eater before the wear and tear of a long baseball season got the better of him. As good as his slider is right now, I think he'd be alright moving back to the rotation. But, I'd rather see Guzman or Prior (if he comes back) or even Wood lock up the last spot(s).
  16. He threw nothing but fastballs to the first guy he struck out last night. I would like to see more of that. It's great until the opposing hitters start sitting on fastballs.
  17. Are we writing off Guzman and Prior completely? I think Dempster is ready for a move back to the rotation also.
  18. He threw nothing but fastballs to the first guy he struck out last night.
  19. Marmol had such a light 1st inning last night, I can reasonably understand why they brought him back out for another. They also might have felt like they could go two innings with him yesterday knowing that rosters expand this weekend. Last night's game was super important to win.
  20. Nope. Cubs made the right move just sending him on down to first. There are guys on teams who you just don't pitch to when there is a base open. Prince Fielder is one of those guys.
  21. I suppose that depends on how much you value a trip to the World Series. Any move made at this time should be with the playoffs in mind. Something needs to be done to put this team in a position to get there. Right now, they aren't good enough. I doubt that Burrell is actually available right now, but things can change in the next two weeks. Victorino and Bourn could be back, which Phily is probably not in a hurry to move him because of those injuries. Just because the Cubs traded for Burrell for the remainder of this season doesn't necessarily mean they would be on the hook for him all of next year, because they could potentially trade him in the offseason. And I'm shocked that Soriano isn't already in RF (at least when he was healthy and playing everyday). This has been the biggest no brainer that hasn't happened yet. He has the speed and arm to play there.
  22. San Diego didn't want Randy Myers. They didn't want the Dodgers or Giants (can't remember which team) to have him, so they claimed him. It sort of worked considering the Padres won the division. But, San Diego did pay Myers for the rest of 1998 for 14 innings of work, and nearly another 14m combined for 1999 and 2000 for 0 innings pitched. Ouch. atlanta? Might be.
