Petke out, Jesse Marsch in at NYRB and the Kljestan to NYRB rumors immediately start. Marsch was his mentor when Kljestan broke into the league at Chivas USA. Double footing Beckham together, etc.

We kind of all had an inkling of that when the MLS salaries came out and he and David Villa were listed as making the league minimum. I believe Melbourne is the shell company paying David Villa so they take up less more room on NYCFC's cap.

Mourinho essentially without explicitly saying it took a shot at City using NYCFC to avoid financial fair play rules. Paraphrased: they can sign anyone in New York and bring them over and no one will say anything so no one will stop them.

Really excited for how well John Brooks has been playing for Hertha. Scoring goals, three time Bundesliga team of the week selection and getting raves from media and his coach. If he puts it all together, he could be special.

RSL fans so aggressively angry that Bill Hamid won MLS GK of the year that Rimando had to tell them to chill, Tim Howard accusing Brad Friedel of trying to block his move to Man United, Friedel freaking out and threatening litigation to clear his good name...lots of drama around US keepers today. I can't wait to read that Brad Guzan TP'd Sean Johnson's house or something.

Keep in mind that Seattle plays in Century Link Field which has a garbage playing surface for soccer. The level of skill on the field was even hampered by the crazy bounces. Games there always start out choppy and then the players settle in. MLS is a fun league and misrepresented by agendas for and against. It's super competitive, it's fast paced and totally worth supporting in some way. It's not the game played at the highest level, but it's high enough to not roll your eyes like the Euro-only fans do. It's also not as high a level as the hyper-sensitive/inferiority complexed MLS fan boys will tell you. It's rules are constantly being changed and the owners rule with unheard of control in professional sports. There's a lot that needs to change and the changes are going to cause some work stoppages and acrimony at some point, but when the games are being played, they're worth watching and the players are worth the price of admission or two hours of your time. Also, Robbie Rogers absolutely deserves a call up in the January camp. I'll be proud to see the US lead the way in having the first openly gay athlete represent it's men's national team.
