    STUPID SO TAGUCHI! Has 68 pitches through 5 though. Will be interesting to see how it plays out if he maintains the no-no through the 7th or 8th with a high pitch count.

    I don't want to lead the league in hustle. I want to lead the league in wins. Marion could also help that. At least we would no longer give up 50 points a game to large shooting guards/small forwards in the Arenas/LeBron, VC, Kobe, Paul Pierce mold.

    I cant decide if 98 or 06 was worse. In 98, we were just terrible, in 06, we were terrible AND we had expectations going in. I dont know. After 98 everyone said it would set american soccer back, but look at 02. Who knows what will happen. They definitely underperformed my expectations, but the sting is eased by the fact that I fully expected Italy and the Czechs to advance. It's just that the first game was unbelievably bad, especially in hindsight of the Czechs sucking. Italy was a moral victory, yet frustrating because of officiating and the non-goal. Ghana was a huge disappointment because it was win and get in. The PK call was a flat out joke, LD was visible only when beefing two good chances (the free kick and the overshot), and Arena's stubbornness to change a formula that clearly was not creating scoring chances. WE HAD ONE GOAL THIS ENTIRE WORLD CUP.

    I'm not a Cubs historian, which is why I put the question mark. I am aware of the basics as a fan of baseball history, but wasn't aware they went to the playoffs in '89. Sorry, as a Cub fan I we need to include all years. I jumped the gun by overlooking the question mark. If the Cubs would have defeated the Giants in 1989 to make it to the World Series, there would have been no live televised earthquake. Because the world as we know it would have ended? :wink: Well, the WS drought would have certainly ended because we all know Tony La Russa can't beat the Cubs.

    Roy vs. Thomas is intriguing because I think Roy is the most NBA ready player in the draft, but Thomas has more upside. I'd agonize over the differences, but then I realize the Bulls have made the playoffs two years in a row and these Knicks draft picks are all just gravy. Delicious, nearly free gravy.

    If a season isn't considered a success unless your team wins the world series, then you are taking things FAR too seriously. I've heard people in this thread saying the Braves should be ashamed beacuse they've won one series out of their slew of playoff appeareances. Are you insane? When your team makes the playoffs, it means you've been rooting for a good team for 6 months. It means you got to root for a winner way more often than a loser. It means that your team is better than the majority of other fan's teams. I'm not saying this because I'm a Cardinals fan, I just think it is true. To compare 4 postseason appearances in more than half a decade ('03, 98, 84, 45?) to the over a dozen that Cardinals have had in that span including 3 championships, 5 pennants, and 7 division titles is apples and oranges. I am of the mindset that I don't rip on Cubs fans for not seeing a championship because I haven't either, but I have seen a lot more good times.

    Yeah, I had Carson last year and loved him, but I can't see him being completely ready for a while.
