  1. http://images.rbkcustom.com/email/email_10006_20070315161815007.jpg Ugly, but not as ugly as yours.
  2. Seriously? Wow. I had no idea. So wait, you're telling me a small sample size in exhibition games isn't the best thing to gauge potential on?
  3. Wainwright gave up some runs today. 5ip, 2er, 4k, 0bb.
  4. So was terrible last year. Outfield will undoubtedly be Duncan-So-Wilson or Duncan-Schumacker-Wilson. Frick.
  5. Merely pointing out that comparing Suppan and Marquis and then saying Marquis can do it because Suppan did was ridicuous because they had the same opportunities in terms of run support and defense.
  6. Suppan does consistently what Marquis cannot, which is command his stuff and control his pitches location. He played in front of a very strong defense all three of those years which benefited him greatly. This is why the deal from Milwaukee was ridiculous. Me too.
  7. Two players peripherals right here-both are on NL Central teams right now, both were on the same team in the years these were taken from, and one is expected to be average while the other one is not: Year 1- A-6.17 K/9, 1.97 K/BB, 2.17 G/F, 1.42 WHIP B-5.27 K/9, 1.69 K/BB, 1.59 G/F, 1.37 WHIP Year 2- A-4.35 K/9, 1.45 K/BB, 1.59 G/F, 1.32 WHIP B-5.28 K/9, 1.81 K/BB, 1.43 G/F, 1.38 WHIP Here is year 3 for one of those 2 pitchers B-4.93 K/9, 1.51 K/BB, 1.61 G/F, 1.45 WHIP Based on those peripherals, what do you think of these two pitchers? Are they both destined to be pretty bad? Where is the third year for the other pitcher?
  8. Right on again. The issue here is, it seems for many the range of potential outcomes with Marquis never approaches positive territory. For them, it's just a question of exactly how bad the guy's going to be. While it is true that I have a vendetta against Jason Marquis, it was never my point that he would DEFINITELY be bad. He'll probably bad. My main point was that it was an idiotic deal for the simple fact that he more than likely won't be any better than Marshall or Guzman and will probably be much worse than those guys. Not only that, but he cost 21 million while the other two guys would cost you relatively nothing.
  9. He was barely above average offensively. Even if the doomsday predictors said he would be below average, they had more evidence to say that than people had evidence to say he would be good. The point is that both of these bad ballplayers didn't deserve their contracts and Marquis more specifically doesn't deserve his rotation spot over someone like Guzman or Marshall, especially at 7 mil a season.
  10. He has had consistently one of the best defenses in baseball behind him and yet has been incredibly bad. The thing about Jason Marquis is that he just doesn't have the ability to consistently command his stuff. He has the great sinker, but game-to-game he can't keep it together. His control isn't great either, but specifically his command of his stuff is pathetic game-to-game. He'll rattle off 3 good games in a row then 4-5 horrendous games.
  11. Bingo! Although I don't think we could get much for him at this point. Can I interest you in Braden Looper?
  12. Then again, he moves from Central Indiana to Southern California. Oakland is northern.
  13. I don't know who Tony "Mustang" Scheiffler is, maybe you're referring to Joe Klopfenstein? Byrd was recently arrested for suspicion of DUI and is also facing charges of assault and armed criminal action after a nightclub fight in downtown St. Louis. He only had 2 catches last year, and is listed 3rd on their depth chart. Klopfenstein seemed pretty good to me as a rookie from what I saw, but McMichael is a proven pass-catching TE that justs adds another dimension to the Rams' dangerous offense. Maybe they're going to run a 2-TE system some this year? Klop looked good at times, but needs some developing. Linehan has some history with the dual TE sets. The Rams also had red zone troubles passing, so Bennett and McMichael vastly improve that. The offense is looking like a freaking juggernaut, but as is obvious, the offense wasn't the problem.
  14. As of now it isn't letting me switch to Roto. I shot off a support email because I'm supposed to be able to change it before league scoring starts in April.
  15. He was the heir to the Mike Lincoln, Al Reyes, Kiko Calero throne of guys who come out of absolutely nowhere to be good for a season and then leave. Calero is the only one who sustained it.
  16. Wolf, It's a great day when I see one of your posts. Not necessarily because of the content of the post, but because the girl in your avatar is smok'en hot. Wilmo I do what I can to brighten everyone's day.
  17. link Well crap, he was our best set up option. 31 1/3 ip, 2.16 era, 28k, 12 bb in regular and post season appearances.
  18. how are the fatties though? I think that depends on the development of Barron. They still have Pace, and young guys like Incogneto and Setterstrom stepped in and did good last year. Barron still takes a ton of Falst start penalties, if he can work on that I think they will have a decent O-Line. Not one of the best in the league but adequate. I disagree. I think it could be one of the best in the league. After the injuries when they settled in, they were very, very good.
  19. Rams just signed TE Randy McMichael. The offense is freaking loaded. Hopefully they address the D-Line because scoring points wasn't our problem last year. Bulger Holt-Bruce-Bennett McMichael Jackson Yikes.
  20. Your starters are real good.
  21. I'll change it at 5 tonight if the voting stands.
  22. How many want head to head and how many want roto. PM me your answer. Whichever gets the most votes will win. I won't count votes in this thread. You have to care enough to pm me.
  23. Update: Homer Bailey was available so I have him. Unfortunately Sammy Sosa (I gave Vance Mike Cameron) and Kent Mercker (IF YOU HAVE YAHOO STOCK, SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL SELL!!) weren't available. Mephistopheles is instead the owner of Bartolo Colon. Everyone check your rosters and make sure they are correct. I could have very easily screwed something up. Let me know I made a mistake.
