  1. Yeah, that was shaping up to be great until that dumb tackle. As always I'm blown away by Defoe and Bale's ball hogging.
  2. Alan Partridge dubs Zlatan's goal:
  3. 1 year removed from being in football hell, roaming from club-to-club without being given a shot and none of us knowing whether it was because of his perceived lack of value or something political/other outside reasons, Jozy has worked to get himself back to where his talent was supposed to take him. http://www.soccerbyives.net/2012/11/rubin-kazan-among-teams-that-bid-for-altidore-last-summer.html I'm happy for the guy because of how hard he worked and how frustrating all the stuff he's gone through since moving to Villarreal. I'm happy for us as US fans because we all thought he was an elite prospect but it looked like he might have been the next in a long line of over-hyped US "phenoms" that eventually left us all discouraged and wondering when we were going to finally see a US player live up to the hype. Hope this guy gets nothing but better and better. AZ is about to get straight paid for having the faith in him that Villarreal didn't have and all the other dumb clubs and their supporters who talked [expletive] (Hull, specifically) who don't know what good soccer looks like can do what Aston Villa supporters have done with Michael Bradley and shake their heads in shock while a dude who played for their team and didn't get a fair shot goes on to play in huge games for clubs that make their lame little club look like a minnow and play well.
  4. Jozy http://www.noshortcorners.com/2012/11/dear-jozy-haters-union.html
  5. A lot of people think that's about all he is, though.
  6. Double bird to the world from Zlatan. Good god. Realize that this goal isn't even the best of his career, but it would be the best of anyone else's.
  7. Their argument was about where they were going to live when they were married... the next day. Washington or Florida. Cool, dude. http://static3.businessinsider.com/image/50a24ccbeab8eac01c000005-400-300/hope-solo-jerramy-stevens.jpg
  8. Hope Solo was in court yesterday while her fiance, former NFL TE/serial woman hitter/rapist Jerramy Stevens, was charged with domestic assault against Hope. Today, they were married. She's smart.
  9. Way too many games in the JK era have relied on MVP games from Tim Howard, but the results keep coming. Omar Gonzalez can't get called in quick enough for my taste. Good to see Agudelo & Mix play well.
  10. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  11. MIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
  12. B.S. marking effort from Goodson. PK. 2-1.
  13. Jermaine Jones is not good.
  14. Great layoff from Juan using his size/strength to create space to head it back to Mikey and a god damn wonder strike from the General.
  15. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MICHAEL MOTHER [expletive] BRADLEY IS A BEAST
  16. Gotta bury that Sacha/Mikey.
  17. Not impressed with the Russian attack. Take Jones off and put Mix or Kljestan in. Don't need three defensive guys in there. Bradley is awesome. Calm, precise, bossing the play every time he's near the ball. Jozy has done really well working hard and posting up. Unlike his club team however, there's no one there to lay the ball off to when he holds it up.
  18. Having some success wide. Russia is getting a lot of guys back on defense. Need to find some crosses.
  19. Chandler & Gatt on the right side = world class speed.
  20. LOLOLOL
  21. GOALKEEPERS (3): Tim Howard (Everton), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) DEFENDERS (6): Carlos Bocanegra (Racing Santander), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Nuremberg), Maurice Edu (Stoke City), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim) MIDFIELDERS (7): Michael Bradley (Roma), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Joshua Gatt (Molde), Joe Gyau (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim) FORWARDS (4): Juan Agudelo (Chivas USA), Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Herculez Gomez (Santos Laguna) Agudelo? Wtf. I like Gyau, Gatt, Mix and Chandler, though. No Dolo, so Chandler will play 90. -----------------------------------------------------Howard------------------------------------------------------ --------Chandler------------------Cameron----------------------Boca----------------------Johnson---------- -----------------------------------------------Williams----------------------------------------------------------- -------Kljestan------------------------------------Bradley-------------------------------------------Gatt------- -------------------------------------------Altidore---------Gomez----------------------------------------------- That's if you want a result. If you want a test, pull Gomez, withdraw Bradley deeper and play Mix behind Jozy at the top of the midfield.
  22. Word is that the reason the roster is taking so long to come out is that there are going to be a few surprises first-timers and they are waiting on some players to formally accept.
  23. He's back in according to the NYT's Jack Bell.
  24. Jozy is a man. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2012/11/j-j-j-jozy.html
  25. Unless he's telling the truth and it's about travel/time away from the team. Gotta think this invitation comes with some kind of frank discussion and demand of commitment.
