  1. Jermaine Jones to Besiktas apparently.
  2. Jozy subbed off after 67 without a goal, but judging by the soccernet game log, he worked his ass off.
  3. More Gedion Zelalem hype. http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/thescoutsnotebook/id/1004?cc=5901 I wish people would get their story straight as to whether or not he's actually a US citizen.
  4. US v Mexico in Phoenix in April according to AO Phx. [expletive] yeaaaaaaah
  5. [expletive]. Rumors that this is happening now but he's on loan to KC until his 18th because of work permit reasons. We'll see as it develops.
  6. I'll say this, it's exciting as hell that within 5 years of the academy system's inception, we're producing million dollar targets for the likes of Juve. We always guessed that the reason we've never produced world class talent is because our lack of professional youth development but it's nice to see tha proving out and being changed.
  7. [expletive]. They probably think they can get more than $1m by holding onto him and selling him in a couple years when he's developed further. Absolutely. I'd just rather Juve develop him than KC, as much respect as I have for Vermes and his organization, but there I go again putting country over club.
  8. http://soccer.si.com/2014/01/24/sporting-kansas-city-erik-palmer-brown-juventus-bid/ [expletive].
  9. Is that the first we've heard that Jurgen has called him? I know he was on their radar, but actual contact before he's even a citizen?
  10. Gideon Zelalem hype machine kicking into high gear as he prepares for Arsenal debut. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/24/gedion-zelalem-arsenal-next-fabregas?CMP=twt_gu
  11. An attack with a healthy Rooney and Van Persie with Januzaj and Mata is dirty.
  12. 10 penalties taken, 3 went in. Lol. Jozy didn't get to take. They clearly have a ton of confidence in him. On the bright side for United, they signed Mata for 37mil pounds.
  13. American youth players at Boca Juniors: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/01/21/american-exports-two-us-youth-internationals-climbing-ranks-boca-juniors
  14. Agudelo loaned to Utrecht. NICE.
  15. http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/us-early-taste-brazil-ahead-world-cup-21535176 Jurgen is now excited about Bradley and Deuce in MLS. Is this him just being a chill guy and not [expletive]-talking his two best players, had he actually changed his mind or is this him taking the long-term view of a stronger MLS = a stronger National team in the future now that he has the extension through '18?
  16. Mo Edu to the Union. Marco Pappa to Seattle. Bofo Bautista to Chivas USA. Lots of + talent coming into the league. I like it.
  17. Every now and then Jurgen does something troubling that leads me to question his grip on soccer reality, like leaving Ronaldo and Messi off of his top three Balon d'Or ballot.
  18. Seedorf. Everyone wants their very own Pep.
  19. Mike Bradley sounds exactly like his dad. http://www.torontofc.ca/bloodybigdeal
  20. Lot of Xavi to NYRB rumblings. Being a neutral fan of the league is fun.
  21. I'm no fan of Fox and their broadcast quality; I thought NBC did a nice job this past season, and I do not want to listen to Gus Johnson call MLS games. I'm with you, but I also like the fact that there's an actual bidding war. It used to be an ESPN charitable gesture. This Bradley move has been really interesting. MLS and our players basically find ourselves in the same position that Mexico has been in for decades. Our league is big enough and rich enough that they'll pay our best players too much money for them to go to low level European teams but not so much that our very best won't leave to go to big teams, but our players aren't good enough/high enough profile to attract interest from the very top teams. MLS is pricing out mid - low table teams in the big leagues and our players aren't wanted by the very top teams.
  22. FOX and ESPN beat out NBC for MLS rights after 2015. Good article about the bidding: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/thegoalkeeper/NBC-to-lose-MLS-rights-in-2015-ESPN-Fox-likely-to-share-new-deal.html
  23. USA Today is a reputable news outlet. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/Bradley_zpsddb7d200.jpg
  24. Seltzer saying TFC is a done deal. It's weird how I've always wanted MLS to be a player for great young players in their prime and be competitive with the best leagues in the world, but now that the very first signs of that coming to fruition are starting to show, I'm not ready for it when it comes to this move. Happy for the guy, though. He's getting paid more than any other club in the world would ever pay him now.
  25. I'd actually like Jermaine Jones to go to Sunderland. He's coming to MLS after the World Cup anyway. Might as well get paid and possibly help Jozy out for the rest of the season.
