  1. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2014/01/the-morning-bradley.html?m=1 Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen, Schalke & PSV are still in the Bradley picture.
  2. I'm with you. I wonder how JK feels with 3 of his best players now in MLS. He must feel like he's getting trolled. You know what it is? We've been trained to see the American career arc play out one way. Come up in the US (MLS/college/Bradenton) and work your way to Europe. Play in Europe as long as you can. Try to move to the biggest club you can. Come back to MLS to get your last pay day. The huge amounts of money being thrown around are throwing a wrench in that and it keeps us from being able to contextualize a player's development and the American player, as a whole's progress. Mike and Deuce were the avatars of this generation doing it "right" (I guess making Landon the poster boy for doing it wrong) and even though on paper, they climbed higher than anyone before them and probably higher than we could have expected when they left MLS, we still don't know how to process them coming back this early. Especially in Bradley's case. For completely understandable personal reasons, they moved the goal posts on us. We need to adjust our expectations going forward as long as this kind of cash is getting thrown around in our league.
  3. Transfer - $10,000,000+ Salray - 6 years, $39,000,000 Hard to argue with that.
  4. So it's apparently a done deal. I'm struggling to parse my emotions. I love MLS, I watch more MLS than any other league and I'm excited to watch Michael Bradley. I'm also disappointed on some level because it's yet another ambitious American reach a new level in the club game, lose PT and come back to MLS. Just like Dempsey, he broke new ground and just like Dempsey, he left leaving his club wanting more despite not being exactly first 11. I wanted to see Michael Bradley play at a club like Manchester United, not TFC. I believe he could have, even though I might be biased and wrong. Why did I want to see him at a club like that? Because it's the highest level and I want to believe that the players I love the most can make it at the highest level. I'm sure somewhere in there is my American soccer fan inferiority complex, but I'm pretty sure it's not a huge factor for me. It's complicated. I believe American players playing at the highest level will be the path to American winning a World Cup. I also believe that Michael Bradley playing at TFC won't limit his effectiveness at the World Cup. I could be wrong about both of those things.
  5. No kidding. Geez. What's crazy is that Mike was only making 1.5 mil wages. This move will probably net him $1,000,000 on the transfer and an annual salary north of $7,000,000. Ambition, shmambition, that's impossible to ignore.
  6. It's not a loan and the numbers being thrown around answer the question as to why he'd want the move completely.
  7. For me, it's leaving a top 10 club in Europe for MLS, regardless of team. This is happening btw, judging by twitter. Could be a 6 month loan.
  8. I would lose all faith in everything if Michael [expletive] Bradley moves to [expletive] TFC. Everything except Tim Leiweke's baller status. No kidding. That's the last guy in the pool I'd think of when it comes to chasing a check. The only reason that I'd even give it consideration is because Deuce would be the second to last guy you'd expect it from and we all know how that played out. Even then though, there is a WORLD of difference between playing in Seattle and in Toronto.
  9. I would lose all faith in everything if Michael [expletive] Bradley moves to [expletive] TFC. Everything except Tim Leiweke's baller status.
  10. Sounds like Mike Bradley is looking for a move.
  11. I'd bet a week's pay that Chris Klute makes the Brazil roster. He's the best pure LB in our pool and I know JK loves the Beas, but Klute is the truth.
  12. Yedlin is getting the you're not quite ready yet but we see you treatment.
  13. Doubt it. Seems 100% committed.
  14. Take this with a giant serving of salt. http://www.calciomercato.it/news/254290/Calciomercato-Roma-un-altro-statunitense-in-mediana.html Mix being pursued by Roma and Werder Bremen. Sounds like American click-bait. ICYMI - Brek Shea is on loan in the Championship. Jermaine Jones put in a transfer request and according to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa, West Brom, Sunderland, Norwich and Crystal Palace are all keeping tabs on the situation. Junior Flores turns 18 in March and can suit up for Dortmund's first team. I'm betting he has an outside shot at making the World Cup squad based on his club situation and interest from El Salvador.
  15. Eddie Johnson is "the worst." http://www.soccerwire.com/news/leagues/mls/raw-talent-bridges-burned-with-seattle-sounders-eddie-johnson-set-for-stunning-d-c-move/ Lol. He's gonna burn DC to the ground. What a dick.
  16. WHERE MY WHITE TEAMMATES AT? YEAHHHHHHH TOUCH DOWN!
  17. LA sold Jose Villareal to Cruz Azul. Interesting.
  18. After a down year, Tim Howard is playing some elite, intimidating goalkeeper. Best I've seen this year.
  19. Two goals from the run and 1 in PK's by ArJo. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2013/12/six-degrees-of-makin-bacon.html
  20. I'm not 100% sure the money was misspent. I am 100% sure that AVB wasn't flexible enough to get the best out of his talent. That was obvious last year. We'll see what the next manager can do with that talent.
  21. This is all obviously true, but the problem is that City started splashing cash knowing full well that they had unlimited reserves of cash going forward. The Bale money was a one-time windfall. Mess that up, and they're back to the old budget. Spurs aren't walking the tightrope over City's net. They were keeping EVERYBODY on side. That was hilarious.
  22. 100,000,000+ pounds? No question about it.
  23. AVB out. Nothin like letting someone spend 100,000+ of your pounds and then having to fire him for misspending those pounds.
  24. Looks like Clint is going to keep Fulham up again. https://www.zapsportz.com/#/article/exclusive-clint-dempsey-snubs-hammers-to-rejoin-fulham-on-loan
  25. I don't think it speaks highly of Jurgen's expectations for this Cup. If he was super confident, he'd wait and negotiate with more power. Anyway, lots of action in MLS today. Kenny Cooper traded to a club yet to be named, Zakuani to Portland from Seattle, Chad Marshall to Seattle and Bayern Munich is officially next year's all-star opponent.
