A two-headed beast of Fox/Hoffpauir at first base would not prove "perfectly adequate" by any means. Inserting Reyes or Drew at shortstop would be huge (preferably Reyes; bat him leadoff and end that debate for the next five years or so), but I'm not sure either would quite be worth the cost they'd require in trade.
